Utility EQBZ Multiboxer 4.4.0

Fixed

  • Highlights for 4.4.0:
    • Split-monitor mode — active session fullscreen on your main monitor, every other session tiled live on a second monitor (Grid / Horizontal / Vertical, aspect-correct). Now rock-solid at any session count, engages automatically on launch, and "Leave a hole" marks the active session.
    • Single shared EverQuest install: no more per-session cloned folders; your UI follows the character and the per-folder crashes are gone.
    • Drag-to-edit layouts: click/drag/resize boxes with snapping, an "Edit Large" pop-out, and a Custom hand-edited style.
    • "Arrange All" button + Ctrl+Alt+B one press re-tiles every session into your layout (works in split and on still-loading sessions).
    • Frame-limiter toggle (off by default).
    • Fixes: autologin on servers with spaces in the name, Alt+Tab no longer shuffles sessions, sessions land on the correct monitor, layouts honor your row/column counts, international-keyboard hotkeys capture correctly, and several stability fixes.

Fixed

  • Couldn't assign hotkeys with certain modifier combos.** With Ctrl+Alt (AltGr) or Alt+Shift held — common on international keyboard layouts or with multiple input languages installed — the final key was dropped during capture, so the combo wouldn't save and cleared when you released the keys. All key variants are now captured correctly.
  • Re-assigning a cleared/disabled hotkey silently did nothing.** Editing a slot whose hotkey had been cleared (or disabled) to a new key showed the new key but it never fired, and it was lost on the next launch. Re-assigning a key now re-enables the binding.
  • Attaching to a window that just closed could crash the app.** If a game window exited between selecting it in "Attach Existing…" and clicking Attach, the app crashed; it now shows a "window no longer available" message instead.

Uncategorized

  • Switching sessions from the Windows taskbar or Alt+Tab now stays in sync, instead of leaving the previous session's thumbnail black or showing a session in both the foreground and a thumbnail.
  • Launching sessions no longer flashes a series of command prompt windows. Per-session folders are now created natively instead of through the command shell.
  • Close All no longer freezes the app while it shuts the sessions down.

Uncategorized

  • Fixed Global hotkeys by moving the keyboard hook to its own thread with a watchdog running to monitor it.
  • Background sessions now keep a configurable amount of memory resident (default 230 to 300 MB, set in Settings or settings.json) instead of being fully trimmed. The aggressive trim was starving the DirectX renderer, causing render glitches and a hard hitch when swapping back to a session. Keeping a resident floor fixes both.
  • Fixed vertical layouts launching at the wrong size, which left a black gap below the main window. Foreground sizing is orientation-aware and works at any resolution, not just 16:9.
  • Windows no longer overlap the taskbar. The foreground is sized to fit the monitor work area, accounting for the EQ window frame.
  • All sessions now size identically, so background windows no longer show behind the foreground.
  • Render resolution is stamped to match the window, fixing black bars on some setups.
  • Reworked window sizing so the launch size and applied layout always match. Placement stays move-only, which keeps the mouse aligned.
