You've discovered RedGuides, an EverQuest multi-boxing and scripting community 🧙♀️⚙️. We want you to play several EQ characters at once, come join us and say hello! 👋
A TLP without truebox has thawed (Very Vanilla ready)
One of my brothers keeps on about AI. Personally, I wonder what intelligence is? Maybe it is the ability to come to the best conclusion about circumstances in which you have absolutely no knowledge? I also think that AI, when used with computers, means Accelerated Idiocy.
Yes, Very Vanilla is still supported in 2025. However it improves the gameplay experience of EverQuest much more than it helps you play your "favorite game EQ".
So I just Logged that group back in and confirmed the anomalous behavior. Autogroup allows me to add a role multiple times, and when it does it also clears out all the other group members.
I'm going to delete the group and start over to try and fix the mess I've created.
Thank you - turns...
This seems like an obvious question, but where is the autogroup.ini file stored? I've searched my system for and haven't found it. The automatic grouping is working fine (thank you for such a timesaver!), but I somehow managed to add the leader as Master Looter twice and can't figure out how to...
Thank you for such a detailed and thorough response. The way you explain things happening is about how I envisioned, and exactly the way I think it should be from a security perspective.
I'm making an assumption that when you say
you mean when the EQ instance shuts down, or are there...
Are MQ macro and Lua add-ons specific to individual EQ instances? Or do they attach themselves to all instances when they're first executed?
Also, do they persist and return when EQ is shut down?
My brain thinks they are instance specific and not persistent, however I'm a bit confused by the...
So I followed the path you previously sent me, created the macros and am now able to turn off sound on all the background instances. I also adjusted the soundon macro to set the volumes at the levels I prefer :), this made me feel quite accomplished! I also ensure that I turn it off for the...
I used to be able to do this stuff almost without trying. We take so much for granted, then miss it equally when we lose it. :(
Thank you for the pointer.
I've decided to just do without audio on all characters as I'm unaware of anything in the game that requires it. If this assumption is incorrect please let me know.
I don't think I'll miss it is much, except maybe the sound of some mob breaking all my fragile bones while I'm afk :)
If you find...
Thank you Sic. After watching your linked video I found the /mqsettings command and implemented Background Frame Limiting - does this do anything with the sound settings for the background instances?
Also, pardon my dumbness, what is the New UI Engine you mentioned? I feel Like I've seen that...
So I've read a lot, watched the intro guides - great work btw - a whole lot of times and figured out how to launch multiple instances of EQ. BUT I feel like I'm missing something completely.
Namely how do I effectively run all the "background" instances of EQ in such a way that they don't tax my...
After watching the Video guide a couple of times I'm busy configuring MQ according to the shown instructions. In the second video, titled "AutoLogin: Multiple EverQuest Character Login for Multiboxing" some the details vary significantly from what I encounter. Perhaps this is because I installed...
I have no choice but to save cash wherever possible, but I am also compelled by principle to do my utmost to pay my way. For that reason I have reactivated my account with Daybreak. If I successfully learn to play more than one character using MQ (and sadly that is a big if :() then I'll do my...
Well I'm a new user and although I found the video guides helpful and informative unfortunately when push came to shove and I tried the first step, i.e. installing the very vanilla version of MQ I was slapped in the face with a "you're not level two so ____ ___". Kind of frustrating!
Anyway...
