    Question - Leveling a shaman and hitting a snag

    That would be my suggestion too. Make sure all your other toons are on sharing so your shammy can soak up their xp. With Lessons and xp pots you should catch up quick. Tip if you haven't done the tutorial in PoK about the DayBreak store you can get a free xp pot to use. :). Good Hunting to you.

    Question - How to stay X units away from a monster

    Not sure with that one. Your running your Toon Manually but want a macro to control your Toon to stay within 30 of the mob. You would end up fighting the macro to control which way to run since you cant control the pathing of the mob. Maybe one of the Developers could make a mac to Highlight...

    MeleeDistance=25 for Melee or 75 if Caster. Play with distance to see what works for you.
