Question - zerker not getting buffs

so i may have misunderstood this but with eqbcon and kissassist on every character, from what i read they should all get buffed by the others. but i have something strange going on. 1 of 2 out of group character is getting 0 buffs and i dont know why :o/ thanks in advance.

Is the zerk running KA too and on the same computer? KA toons all update their current buffs to a "buff" file, then each buffing toon reads that file to see who needs which buff.

Not as common, but it could also be a setting in your buffing toon's ini file. Make sure buffing is turned on for each in the [Buffs] section.

KA buffs depend on KA running to receive those buffs. KA creates a makeshift database in a plaintext file with member names and their buffs. If that character isn't on that list, which refreshes frequently, it won't get buffs. There are three or four solutions. Add KABuffs.inc or whatever it's called to the macro your character is running, following the directions to do that in the include file. Second is run KA on the character. Third is to port KA from EQBC to use DanNet queries. The fourth is to live without buffs because they're just a crutch anyway. Alternatively, you can try Core.mac but the last couple solutions are radical.

also just noticed that while the other out of group character is getting and giving buffs, he's not melee'ing, the zerker melees sometimes and not others, but i was doing some digging and i read something about xtargets? idk if that has anything to do with this, cause tbh i dont know what it is.

Kiss generally will not do buffs outside group, even with Xtarget healing on, its simply not in the system yet, would need to beg @ctaylor22 hardcore for the option to have a buff solution for XTarget.

Yeah KA is really setup for single group only. It has a few extra features like xtarget healing, but nothing like that for buffing. You could look into another macro called ModBot. It has its own forums on here. I recall it being mentioned as good for out of group setups.

KA does have MGB buffing built in, though it uses Tranquil Blessings. It still waits for the buffer themselves to loose the buff, then waits for a full out-of-combat break and fires TB+group buff. If you're going to add it to your [Buffs] section, make sure you also add a long pause in your Puller's [Pull] section too, so the buffers actually get a long enough break to use TB.

As far as out-of-group KA toons not assisting/DPS'n, that has been brought up before and I thought they'd added some code to help out. But overall it's a known issue. There are some plugins designed to help that, or again you could try one of the other supported macros like - modbot, core or maybe IHC's zerker macro. eqmule's older kA mod might have a fix built in, I can't recall. MQ2berzerker may also work for out-of-group setups depending on the mode you put it in.

I did a search and came across this thread. I have kissassist and Mq2berzerker. My Berzerker isn't getting single target buffs. I do not have an Kissassist.ini for the Berzerker. Do I need to create one that is blank?

If you run a blank KA on zerk & chat's plugin, then it will work. I don't think chat's plugin's update the kissassist buff file, where KA reads to see who needs what buff.
