What's with the .ini files?
If you've followed the beginner guide, then in your /Macros folder you'll find certain .ini files that look like this,
If you can't see the ".ini" at the end, you need to set Windows to "view file extensions" - here's a guide on how to do that.
People post their .ini files to help others speed up the setup process. To use someone else's .ini, simply highlight their code, copy it, then paste it into your KissAssist_charactername.ini file. Keep in mind that nobody's character is going to be exactly like yours, so you'll need to edit out the items & spells you don't have, but it's a great start. If you have trouble or need help, don't be embarrassed to post a question! Even the most newbie questions we're happy to answer.
Why is everyone saying "holyshit" and "downshit"? Were you all raised in Grobb?
I apologize for the language of these trolls! You don't need to worry about holyshits and downshits if you're just starting off, they're mostly to help improve melee characters a bit. They work with MQ2Melee (a plugin) and have nothing to do with KissAssist. You can run your melees just fine without them, but if you want every little bit of DPS you can read kcrobk's great guide here.
