I don't think I've changed anything so why do I down load as an php attachment and not as a zip file any ideas?
The site worked fine for me after I added redguides.com to my Compatibility View in IE11. It wasn't a big deal renaming the php attachment when you downloaded but there were some other issues I was experiencing. I use Chrome and Firefox on my PC, but unfortunately, loading them on this laptop is a no-starter. I use it for a specific purpose (aside from occasionally using MQ2 and EQ) and I don't install any additional 3rd party software on it.

Ok I apologize right off for being in wrong area but have looked around and cannot find a more appropriate spot. I get mq2 to work but only by extracting and setting it up the way we used to way back when everything was run through Not Addicted website. When I try to use updater it get this message. RGUpdate v1.0.2 Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. Blah blah.... access to the path C:\Program Files\MQ2RedGuides\Changes-ISXEQ.txt.tmp is denied. When I hit the continue button it says extracting but nothing seems to happen.
When I try to copy the ui files to C:\Program Files\Everquest\uifiles\default\ I get unhandled exception again except it says Files Everquest\uifiles\default\MQUI_BagWnd.tmp is denied. Any help is appreciated and again sorry if in wrong spot. Been away from game for a while and trying to relearn : ) Have a good day and thank you.

Delete or rename those temp files. Next time running RGUpdate.exe, be sure to have all other EQ-related programs closed. EQ, MQ2, ISXEQ, WinEQ, etc. Best to do it on a clean boot. More info:

i run 4 comps and one of mine does it all the time every update its a pain and i dont know what i do different on that one computer....
just keep clicking update when you get a error delete the files that say .PendingOverwrite
and try update again.

This is the 3rd computer of mine that I am setting this up on - when I hover over the MQ2 shield in the notification area on the task bar, it says "MarcoQuest (Need Recompile)".
Never had this problem before. I restarted computer with a fresh/clean install and same problem.
I should add that I can still run macro's in game, it doesn't appear to be broken. Though the Redguides MQ2 window in game doesn't show all the stuff upon macroquest start up like it usually does.
