Question - Turning off DPS turns off damage casting mercs WAI?

My cleric is running out of mana too quickly so I turned off DPS to get him to just heal. Not too long after I noticed that his damage caster merc had stopped casting anything at all. I turned DPS back on with just Celestial Hammer and the merc started casting again.

is this working as intended?

Currently yes.
I can see where that could be an issue on a healer. I am doing do some work on mercs this weekend. We will look into it.
