Good morning, I am having trouble with Kissassist. Going to copy and paste the files beacuse i'm too lazy/not knowledgable enough to figure out that insert thing. So for that I apologize. However, quick run down. I had a KA a few years ago and it worked decent. Put EQ down for a while and turned off my RG account. Started playing a few days ago, loaded everything up, Took a bit to get everything in working order. Copy and pasted a good bit of my files from my old KA character files to the new one. Loaded it up, worked amazingly. Better than it did 3 years ago. So, I decided to move my group to a more advanced area. Turned everything off. Moved to the next zone. Found a camp. Turned everyone on. Tank/Puller pulls one mob and kills him. Then just stands there. Everyone just seems to pause. I have to /macro Kissassist on every character to get them to work again. Even if the mob is mezzed. I haven't went back to the first zone yet to see if it works. Doesn't matter if it does or not since I need to use it in multiple zones. I have tried modifying the kissinfo file, deleting it and rebooting it. have shut my pc down and all.

Here is the kissinfo file, only one I have at the moment.
INI:
[The Overthere]
MezImmune=List up to 10 mobs. Use full names i.e. a green snake,a blue tiger,a wide eye ooze or NULL
AAMezImmune=0
MobsToPull=List up to 25 mobs. Use full names i.e. a green snake,a blue tiger,a wide eye ooze or ALL for all mobs
MobsToIgnore=List up to 25 mobs. Use full names i.e. a green snake,a blue tiger,a wide eye ooze or NULL
MobsToBurn=List up to 10 mobs. Use full names i.e. Beget Cube,Helias,Raze or NULL
PullPath=Place holder for path file. Not yet impletmented.
PullLocsHelp=Y,X|Range. Ignore mobs in this area
PullLocs1=0
PullLocs2=0
PullLocs3=0
PullLocs4=0
PullLocs5=0

This kisscheck does show some errors, mainly just spells or AAs I don't have anymore. I changed it and got rid of them, but still did the same thing. I didn't change anything in the kissinfo file because i didn't change anything in it before when i used it yesterday for like 5 hours. Thanks in advance.

Does your puller give any feedback in the MQ window? Typically the puller will explain what he's doing or why he's waiting (eg give the name of the mob he's pulling, that he's waiting X seconds for respawns, etc.).

The 350 pull range seems small to me but I'm not familiar with the new OT.

Nope, just sits there. Even if i pull with the rest of the group(who also is running KA) they don't assist. I have to reset KA every time I want to start to pull. It echoes all of my spells and heals, then just stops. Doesn't end the macro or anything. I've it running for 30 minutes or so and the first mob it pulls has respawned, so changing the distance won't matter. although i will later if needed.

You might be right, but i've never messed with those before. I'm not sure what those commands do. They weren't on prior. The only difference i see in my old KA file and the one i have now is the XTSlot = 1...before it was XTSlot = 0...again i don't know what those do.

Energizzer you might need to update your INI files to get them to work properly, because Red guides has done many updates

I would try going to the INI library , use it and modify to your liking. If problem persists , then you need REDBOT or SIC or someone who really knows their stuff to help you out

Deleted KA and redownloaded it, now the tank pulling/tanking but everyone else is just sitting around lol. Also, apparently I was missing 537 nav mesh files. Thanks for the tip, Hulk. I'll get it figured it out.

Lots of Improvements to be made with this ini.

You AE section and your Agro Section is off.

First: With Multiple Mobs..u need to make sure you have them on Agro setting the AE section makes sure you will use your AE tools and keep them on Xtarget. Enc can Mez them...and they will mem blur etc...so they may not be agro on you.

[AE] AEOn=1 AESize=4 AERadius=50 AE1=Contempt|2|Mob AE2=Explosion of Hatred|3|Mob AE3=Explosion of Spite|3|Mob AE4=Stream of Hatred|2|Mob

Second you need to make some adjustments to your Aggro Section.

[Aggro] AggroOn=1 AggroSize=4 Aggro1=Taunt|100|< Aggro2=Protest for Power|100|< Aggro3=Ageless Enmity|100|< Aggro4=Projection of Doom|100|< Aggro2nd=0

I am at work atm..so these arent my INI. These two Sections are both copied from the First ini I could find in the Kissassist INI Section. Theya re for a 115 SK - so dont just copy these...
But DO copy the Syntax.

I think this will solve most of the issues.

No doubt it needs works, however my problem wasn't multiple mobs. In the first zone i was in, which was Frontier Mountains, I wasn't having a problem. I was tanking singles and multiples. My problem is once I lose aggro, whether by killing a mob or mem blur, all of my KA accounts was just sitting there. I have deleted KA and redownloaded it and gotten all of my new nav meshes downloaded and he did a second pull. Which was more than he was doing before, but the rest of the accounts were having the same problem with essentially pausing. I would have to restart the macro each time i wanted the group to fight.

Again, quick run down
1) Worked in Frontier Mountains perfectly.
2) Zoned to Overthere it would pull one mob and then stop.
3) Redownloaded everything(going to work on it more) and new nav meshes now SK kind of works.

Will update tomorrow if I get it to work.

Thanks everyone for the help so far.

You have AgroOn= 0 and AEon=0
At a minimum - you need to turn on those sections. It cant be working Perfectly without these sections. Sure It might pull a mob and tank it and hopefully you will keep agro and not die.

If it stops Pulling then it should say something in the Chat Window.

If you look on the Map...do you see the Blue Circle? Are there Mobs within that Radius?

MaxRadius=350 MaxZRange=50

This is a very small area.

The great thing is you can set these from the command line.

/MaxRadius 600
/MaxZRange 250

Change a few of these on the fly and see if it makes any difference.

Also Camp Radius is set to 30. This is ok, but its also pretty tight. You might want to adjust this to 60 and see if it makes a difference.

If I were you I'd also backup my ini files, and re-run KA to let it generate fresh ini files, then tweak from there (primarily borrowing from your backups). If you were coming from an older version of KA, and since you are having the problems you're describing, it's very possible it will be faster to get them straightened out that way than picking through them with a fine toothed comb and hoping to luck into what's causing them to act weird.

Ok, got it figured out for the most part. Not sure why it quit working to begin with. But the camp radius i believe was too small so after the initial pull they were too far apart to assist. Now that I think about it more, I was in a pretty confined space before.. Bumped it up, now everyone is running again. Thanks everyone. now i can fine tune it to be a well oiled machine!

Great to hear its running again.
The best way to learn is to look at other peoples ini's and try to figure out what each line, and each section of the ini does.

I doubt if anyone would say their ini is perfect - but they are easy to tweak once you master it.

If you run into any issues -just post them here. Lots of people on this site will try to assist.

Here is a tip for ya.... If you are using your tank to pull to your camp try this. Set the campradius to 60 then set everyone elses campradius to 65 or 70. There are times when the tank will run to the edge of the camp radius and start fighting and the rest of the group will just sit there because the mob is outside of the circle. This will let the other come and fight because the mod will be in their campradius.

that is not how kissassist works. kiss doesn't use campradius the same way that the cwtn plugins do. I think you're thinking about them.

CampRadius30Any #Determines how far your characters interact based on your initial camp spot. This value should be less than MeleeDistance. See MeleeDistance in the Melee section for more information.

Hummmmm. Okay I run a mixed group couple of KA and couple of CWTN in the group. So far this has worked for me. I changed the radius on the KA characters to 65. On the CWTN characters that are not the tank to 65 as well and Keep the tank at 60. So far they all runout to the mob even if its at the edge of the circle.

In the KissAssist Wiki it does not say that this is not how it works. So am I doing something wrong?

Campradius is where you head back to if you are outside of it. Meleedistance is the distance that you engage mobs at with either melee, spells, or even pet

MeleeDistance75Any #Mobs outside this radius will not be engaged. Tank modes will use this distance to decide if mobs should be engaged. This distance applies to casters engaging with spells as well and will be checked even when MeleeOn=0.NOTE: Setting this entry to the same value as CampRadius will keep the Tank from taking that initial Jump at the mob on incoming.
/meleedistance[Melee]Mob needs to be within this [number] distance to engage

kissassist uses campradius for different things than cwtn plugins

1. How close to the loc that the camp is, to be considered home when using returntocamp=1
2. The area to check for extra mobs before pulling when using chainpulling
3. The area you want to go to as puller type that is close to your loc before you are allowed to do combat

and a few minor things, it has nothing to do with starting combat or assisting in combat, other than for the puller

What does help with assisting in combat, is setting your meleedistance=#, this is the distance where casters and melees will startcombat after the puller has returned to camp, and the mob is at or below the assistat=# in hp%

For tank/puller, set CampRadius to 35 tops, MeleeDistance to 50/65
For Melee Assists set campradius to 35 tops, Meleedistance to 65/75
For Caster Assists set campradius to 35 tops, Meleedistance to 100/120, ( if mob moves away due to things, running, getting pushed they can still cast on it without having to move)

Make sure to use the command /camphere on to set a camp to return to, if you are using eqbc you can issue /makecamphere from your kissassist driving toon, and it should broadcast it to everyone in group.

For puller types to pull mono level areas set your MaxRadius to 500 to begin with and your MaxZRange=250, this is good for most zones, some more hilly zones you can do MaxZRange=1000 and be good. To change the maxradius and maxzrange while the macro is active use the /maxradius and /maxzrange commands, do not do varsets. or whatever some of you do.

For areas with multi levels, you can use the height filter on your map to show you z radius, if your maxzradius is 50, input that in both fields and turn on height filter, boom, your pulling area.

Okay got it.... I will check the meleedistance and see what the group has setup to. I might have set it up a while ago and forgot that. That might be the reason the group will attack something close to the campradius.

Thanks
Zeb

Setting all of that up now. Not 100% sure what I changed on the SK that made him start working. But, everyone else was set up a little too far away to assist. I'm pretty sure that was my problem. I did move everyone closer and left the melee distance the same, so that could have been the fix. Thanks again for all of the help.

My rule of thumb for setting MeleeDistance, on assist characters, is to make sure the value is large enough to cover the area where your tank will be engaging the mobs. If the area is to small then your casters won't attack if the mob is further away than MeleeDistance. On the MA I set MeleeDistance to a value from camp I want the MA to engage, and you need to consider where the mob will end up relevant to the assist characters MeleeDistance. You want the mob to be tanked inside of the assisting characters MeleeDistance.

I'm not sure what those commands do. They weren't on prior. The only difference i see in my old KA file and the one i have now is the XTSlot = 1...before it was XTSlot = 0...again i don't know what those do.
I do not know what the XTSlot=? does either. Can someone help me out and explain?

@Markar1

XTSlot is the First XTarget Entry Slot, that was set to AutoHater when you FIRST started kiss. You shouldn't change that value in the ini file. Changing it will NOT do anything, that entry is used for recovery purposes. If kiss is ended properly then XTSlot will be set to "0". This entry is used primarily by characters NOT in the same group as the MA.

So why would kiss need this? If your pulling social mobs, or mobs that don't auto aggro your character, and the MA is in another group, The mobs showing up in the other group XTarget window will NOT show up in your XTarget window, so kiss thinks there is nothing to attack and the character just stands there. So In a situation like that, when the MA calls his target, The out of group character will set his first autohater entry to the target of the MA, and now kiss determines that as having Aggro and will kick in. That First autohater entry number that was used is stored in XTSlot.

Hope that helps.
