The Lost Notebook

Tried to kill eye with Pally in GH as test. Was able to give item to eye and target but could not do any damage. Tried spells and melee.

Is there a trick to killing eye or is there just a problem killing in GH
 
Yeah killing stuff in a Non-Dmg zone like guildhall, guild lobby, PoK or Bazaar is like ULTRA HYPER MEGA hard, thx for the laugh tho.
 
trying this today... its not working for me..

anyone done this today?

looted parts of notebook

then ... got new mission... zoned in .. made eye .. killed .. looted a book ... nada..

did it 4-8 times.. not update...

then tried 1 book .. then four books.. several times nada...

anyone gimme some help?

Army - Every time you do the task - You have to loot the books in a random order. Take 4 books and turn them into the eye. Kill it, and while your looting watch you task window and see if a book you loot updates the task. Take that book that updated the task and put it in a seperate bag. Ive gone through as many as 8 eye summons before I have finished the task before so sometimes your luckier then others.
 
ok figured out what went wrong.....

on my main I say "I will recover some pages"

got mission .. got books ..

but here is where i Foooked up

I sent my necro back .. and saying that did not get mission....

So .. i hailed him .. and said Check ...

it gave mission... But this exploit did not work ..




So i went back with main ... and said "i will recover some pages"

and it worked






so not sure if key phrase :"Check" works if you use it to get the first mission where u loot books .. and the missions that follow.... will have to try

does this work with any other loot quests? i tried it on another one (scribbles) and it didnt work. just curious
 
do you ever need to be in a group to have the mission or it can be made solo ?
 
Found something interesting. lvl 65 rg/66 shm/70 mage/70 war average was off only offered me normal not hard. this resulted in 2 attunable drops 140 hp plus not on any loot list I could find. Also if you kill enough eyes you will find random drops from the zone will drop including gems and shoulder items.
 
You have to have an average level of 69 to get Hard. No sexual pun intended. Also the chest drop will be less too. We had 2 65s once and the chest drop was a bard only primary wepon it was a pipe i beleive
 
cleric 67, chanty 70 and sk 70 i can't get the mission. do you need to have it done before and/or to give him the book that drops in Stoneroot Fall ?
 
Hmmm i didnt have to i just said gather and i got it. But someone in my group had done it before. He said he had to get the book from one of the spiders by the hive then give that to the spider. I would try to just say gather. if not its off to find the book. Or if your on luclin i might be able to help you out
 
To get this mission I had to get the notebook from the dracnids in Stoneroot. I had to give the notebook to XG to "Wake him up". Then you actually have to talk to the other droid standing right by XG. Since they are so close together when you /say recover you still get the response even if you "think " you are talking to XG. When I tried to get the mission with another toon that was with the toon during the first mission, he was ignored. I brought the toon that had "woke up" XG and did /say recover and got the mission again. Typing all this from memory so I do not have complete names but if you need more help with getting mission feel free to ask more questions here or PM me. I have not completed the mission so I can't help with that...sorry

Shoulders drop in the hard mission. (I've never seen them but a friend saw them. ~170hp)

A monk/bst weapon dropped in normal for me. It rotted. Don't remember the name but had a lifetap proc built in to it.

Then later when I tried to summon eyes just for the random drops I went for over 600 eyes of summoning and killing. 7 peridots, 8 emerals, and 5 malachites was all I got for my troubles.

Any tips on how to spawn the zonewide randoms?

saw a neck item last night.... 190/190 all melee classes with cleave 1 on it....

Hmm... macro this for the gems. AFK... Only can do it for 6 hours till have to get new mission, but could this work? And would it be worth it? And would this call attention to it?
 
No idea how to get random trash drop to spawn from the eye. I have had it happen only twice, but I can assure you it does drop.
 
same .. i have gotten a little VT from the eyes...

this that the other thing..

Never thought about just killing eyes for trash loot..

SOOOOOOO many other ways to spend your time productively and more lucratively

I've done the easy mission, I have all the books and I tried to get the hard mission but the clockwork ignores me. Do i need another notebook fromt he drachnids in stoneroot before he'll letme do the hard mission?

Doh...had invis on :)
 
I got a Dracnid leg today off the eye lol. +60 hp aug. And some shoulders too that look like a wishbone. (cant remember the name of em cause they were not an upgrade) They had 170 hp/mana and normal stats
 
Thought I saw some where that this mission is on a different one then Sabotage? Can anyone confirm that?

LOL...is that with or without putting the books on the eye? This kind of intrigues me. Just so I'm understanding this correctly, I have the Holgresh elder beads and cast eye of zomm inside the mission, the eye then gets the normal loot table for any mob in the instance? If this is correct would this be true for other zones? I know that someone has mentioned that it's true for at least one other instance.
 
Yes I did it with the books. Also you can put 8 books on the eye at one time (if your fast) and cut the time down to do it. So put 4 books, hit give, give 4 books, then kill. loot 8 books. Less eye of zoms used. And thats good if you are not a wiz. BE CAREFUL THO IF YOU HAVE ANY BOOKS ON THE EYE AND IT DISAPEARS YOU LOOSE THE BOOKS. Like i said FAST. (macro is nice)

Well you ever tried to give an eye 9 books yourself???

I just did it and there where only 8 on the corpse after the kill.
Yay now I am fecked to farm again.
Anyone able and willing to confirm this? Or even you got same problem???

Ok, I've had too long off from playing my mage.

Is there a way for a mage to kill his eye solo? Can't remember if or how you can get out of eye view to target it, trade, and kill it.

PS, you can cast eye of Tallon for a 1 min mob if you want to do more books also, assuming it should work the same.

SP, for those who've gotten vender trash off your eyes, was that with or without giving them the books?

Are you serious it only let you loot 8? I have this macroed and works like a gem hmmm i use stalking probes as the eye. Well if this is true Just to be safe only give 8. And im sorry that it took book. Worked flawless for me. When you go to farm the last book make sure to do the eye trick till it dont update anymore. That way the first drop will be the right book. Also changed the previous statment so no one else loses book. :(

I can confirm that giving 9 will only return 8 on the corpse of the eye. Be careful also if doing this with a friend and not 2 boxing, because if they cast the eye spell again it can despawn the eye with your books, and you have to do the mish normally again to get the lost books.
 
Yea i looked at my macro and it only gives 8. A freind wrote it for me and it hapened so fast i thought it was giving all of them. He knew about the 8 item rule apparently. And im sorry for any inconveinance

First only Eye of Zoom works, least on my testing I could never get Eye of Tallon to work.

Second, yes you can do it all solo. Eihter via macro or as I do via hotkey.
Check the whole thread for my replies and you will find my post on the hotkeys. Which equal the commands a macro would use.

Btw thx Salemwin for the whole info, I thought they fixed Eye of Zoom after DoN exploits. But appearently they only made the DoN loot noDrop and left Eye of Zoom spell unchanged.
 
Well i've only user tallon since it lasts a minute, and five alts kitted out can't be wrong :)
