Question - Switching Targets from raid mob to adds then back

Looking for some help here. We box raids, and mid fight we need to switch from the main boss to the adds. Is there some kind of command we can use to switch our melee and casters that we choose off of the boss mob and onto the adds as we clear adds? I've tried searching the forums and the only close think I found was from Maskoi who posted try "/killthis" but I dont think that really applies to me. I need 8 toon's to stop melee'ing or casting and switch to a new target during a fight.

I try and do a /end and then reactivate them with a /mac kissassist, but they switch off the target and back to the boss mob instantly and dont allow me to /mac kissassist the right charachter. Also, thats not very efficient when I'm clearing 20 adds and they keep wanting to beat on the boss mob. Even if I have to hit something everytime to make sure they assist the main assisst that would even work. Anything is better than my current wrestling off them.

Thanks for your help

/bca //killthis will tell all toons except the toon you are sending from to switch to the current target.
/bct toon1 //killthis will cause toon1 to switch to the new target. You could use a hotkey with specific /bct toonnames //killthis.

With KA running you can run:
/switch

I myself have never used that command so I don't know the macro logic and as to what target it will select.

geEQ, so so to get this correct, the "/bca //killthis" I only need to enter that on my main assist and the rest will assist him?

Right, as eqgeek mentioned, assuming you have the EQBC server running and you have the other characters connected to the server. /bca makes all the connected characters follow the command. However, if you only want a select few of the connected characters, you should use /bct with the characters' names. And as GPS_Soldier mentioned, the /switch command works nicely too.

I think that /switch calls the MA's target so it works if you are on another mob and need to switch to the MA's mob. I'm not 100% on that. /killthis allows you to kill whatever is targeted.

There is a great "Dummies" guide to EQBC if you click the home button on this site and scroll thru the posts.

/bca sends a command to ALL connected EXCEPT the toon you are using to type it (example /bca //stick)

/bcaa sends the command to all connected (example /bcaa //endmac)

/bct is to send to specific toons (example /bct George //invite Bob)

Keep in mind if you have multiple groups doing multiple things that the /bca and /bcaa will command them too. I accidentally did /bca //nav and my toons in another zone ran off as well :-)

Thanks for the help!
Having some issues with EQBC, working through them though. Thanks again for the help, the /switch will work until I can get EQBC up and running.

Sending a tell/fs/group/whatever message to the box with "Switch Target" (no quotes) works, too. Triggers the same as /switch.

I have a hard time boxing in front of a live group of non-users when we are doing a mission that requires picking up the adds. It would be nice, note: *FEATURE REQUEST*, if there were a new toggle to always follow the MA's assist; such as, "/mac kissassist assistmain" where it would always be detecting where the target ring was, who the raid or group MA was, and do an auto-switch on that instead.

I could see this being done. But, yeah, it'd have to be an ini option; imo. Often, as a tank, I'm switching targets like mad to control aggro against folks that don't /assist the MA or Rune casters who generate insane amounts of threat. I wouldn't want my boxes switching targets just because I was doing some aggro management. I currently use ISBoxer and a G15 Keyboard to passthru a /switch when I need them to switch to my current target, else they stay where I put 'em. For me, this is plenty dandy.

I still seem to be having serious issues with my toons switching from the main boss mob to my tanks target which are adds. My command is as follows, and I am now running EQBC.

the /bca //killthis and /bca //switch are not working my melee toons continue to just pummel the boss mob and not burn down the adds. Thoughts?

I've even tried
/bca //killthis
/bca //switch
/pause 2
/bca //killthis
/bca //switch

I've tried the above with a /bcaa

/killthis is an mq2mlee command that will only work with toons that actually melee. It really does nothing for other toons running under Kiss. It would be more for the MA use the command so he attacks the current target until dead. SO just

/killthis

the command you want to send over eqbc is

/bca //echo Switch Target

or maybe

/bca //docommand /switch

might work.
