Question - Semi-Partial Macro'd Raid

Anybody ever partially botted a raid before? I've got roughly 2 groups of 85's that I could field, I had made a bunch of accounts after they went F2P so I was able to bypass the location restriction of sorts for free heroics. if I could find raid targets that allow mercs even better! I'd like to gear up my mains with gear, those accounts are all-access so gear restrictions are no worries.

I always play my puller still so I'm able to control campsite interaction pretty explicitly. It's my plans to write specific macros for the raid target if needed. I used to write all my own macros back in the day, so, I'm very familiar with that... just need to bone up on the changes. I'd even be willing to share what I've put together here after I've got all the bugs iron'd out.

Anybody else have prior experience with this? Looking for advice on targets, what you found fun, or even macro snippets if you've got something you found useful.

I have ran 12 man raids with kiss but it was hectic

With 2 groups of 85s you honestly couldn't do any raids that would get you anything better than the group gear you can get at 85. I don't know the older raids well but for example when I was actively playing we were fully geared in T1 CotF raid gear and with actual players there weren't many raids we could do from the previous expansion with less than 3 groups. We were trying to get some decent gear for alts but we didn't get that far along, doubt undergeared bots would be able to handle anything worth while.

You'd be better off getting one toon up to 105 with T3 group gear and use that to twink your 85s. A 105 mage or necro with some 85's healing and buffing would be able to do more than 2 groups of 85 bots.

Its very difficult and time consuming to get a raid specific macro going to control toons..

1) Every raid is different ... ( stop nuking at this trigger... move away from mob or aura dot for this phase.. etc etc etc ).

Because the tactics and strategy for every raid is different.. you would need to accomodate every event trigger that requires a specific action you must take (depending on class also)...

I've written raid macros.. but they were highly customized for that particular raiding event and its triggers/phases. It was a nightmare.. so i stopped after that with raid macros.. lol
