Red Planet Project might end in May 2012

The Red planet emu will probably be shutting down at the end of April or May 2012. There are several reasons for this decison.

Reasons
1. Steam UF Everquest download is no longer available.
2. Everquest is now free to play.
3. Lack of players.
4. Server maintenance and content massive time sink.

Well that stinks. I had been trying to finish up some stuff on my main before I could really emerse myself in the Emu, but I understand you have to do what is best. Was a good try though!

The fact that steam discontinued their Everquest Underfoot download was a surprise but kind of makes sense since you can play for free in House of Thule..

Red Planet could of worked if EQ didn't go F2P, now I bet a ton of the EMUs are hurting because of it.

To be honest I donated to get it started and was waiting for it to be settled down before playing on it.. but I understand that maybe it isn't needed as much now. At least until such a date that Sony actually manages to kill MQ2 which I doubt will happen.

On a side ... how fricken many of us are in and around Dallas???? I just happened to notice that today LOL.
