Problem - Random Crashing

Greetings,

It seems like ever since I did the last update to MQ2, via the RedGuides Launcher, EQ has been crashing randomly and it appears to be at the fault of MQ2. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to it - sometimes it happens when I start MuleAssist, sometimes it happens when zoning, sometimes when I log out (and it crashes at the char select screen), sometimes I happens when I come back from being AFK.
The only common thing seems to be that it only happens when MQ2 is running, even if no macro's are running and it's always accompanied by the attached screenshot. I can attach the log file(s) if needed, as there are many of them - 30 from the last 5 days alone. At this point, it's basically a reliability issue, I cannot rely on the tool to work properly when I go to box.
The only thing that has changed is the updated version of MQ2 (and EQ patches), no windows updates, no hardware changes, no other software changes (nothing added or removed). The PC itself is rock solid in stability and runs 24/7 as it has been for years (I restart it once a week or so just for good measure). When I run EQ without MQ2, I have no problems. I do use WinEQ, however this problem seems to be unaffected by that, as it happens when I don't use WinEQ as well.

Yes I have reviewed the sticky, and yes I have tried all of the suggested items (except recreating it on another PC, as I do not have another PC I box on) and the problem persists.

Thoughts?

well if you wanted to PM me 1 .dmp from your logs folder I can take a peak at the dmp and see if it points to anything in particular. (dmps can and will have information like character names and such fyi)

as the popup suggests, often the best course is to send to [email protected] if the .dmp doesn't point to a plugin specifically.

in this case it is saying msvcrt which is the microsoft visual c run time library - which means it could be from anything

but if you want me to take a peak and see if i can quick-see anything in the dmp, PM it to me

I don't believe there is a single public plugin that uses wcstok. Start unloading closed source plugins and see when you stop crashing~

yeah 100% I don't know of anything that uses wcstok (and good point that i missed)

I’ll look into plug-ins and Sic I’ll send you a copy of the log file. I’m using a “stock” setup - meaning that I’m only using the plugins that came with the install via the Redguides launcher - except maybe MuleAssist, but I thought that was included as part of the Very Vanilla install.

I appreciate the help!

not really much of anything useful in those dmps. the eqgame crash has basically zero information in it, and the msvcrt crash goes from msvcrt to wdmaud to msvcrt and explodes

What windows version are you using? OS Version 6.2.9200 --- isn't this windows 8?

Windows 10 - Version 2004

Might be worth unloading some of the plugins if you're not actively and directly using them - you don't have a bloated list or anything, but its useful to unload stuff that you're not actively/intentionally using.

Might be worth unloading mq2damageparser if you're not using it, mq2gmail if you're not using it.

I believe mq2mule uses mq2exchange and mq2xassist so you might need/want those loaded (but otherwise unload them).

also noticed you have both eqplay nice and wineq - might be worth looking in that direction as well.

I'm kinda shooting in the dark here (with some consultation from Knightly).

Still worthwhile to email your dmp file to [email protected] (one of the lead devs for mq2)
