No. Use AdvPath. MQ2navigation is out-moded, and MQ2Nav is in re-development. Trees suck, no way around it. One thing you can try is increasing ZAxis with MaxZRange in the KA ini. Iirc it defaults to 100. In hilly regions we have found that increasing that to 200 or so you will be able to pull mobs that are above and below you on the ZAxis.
I feel your pain. I personally gave up entirely trying to use MQ2Nav in The Feerott (sp) due to the trees. Some zones just don't work well. I have had good luck with it in Loping Planes, Toskirakk (sp), some HoT zones, etc. I try to find zones that do not require it (kinda like you said).
Life does suck, however it is still better with MQ2 than without. Another problem you may discover is that with MQ2Nav loaded, mobs can be picked up by distance by the way the bird flies. Meaning, from the air, not considering walls and obstacles, a mob might be physically only 200 units from you, and MQ2Nav may run 1000 feet around and around things just to get it. Use it with care if at all. It has to be tested in the zone/camp in use. I have pulled some mighty trains. It is not ready for prime time yet. Coders pretty much donate their time and energy updating these kinds of things, it takes time, they have lives, and jobs... and families...
