Hi,
Was wondering if it is possible that after the Bard sings his mezz song (which is announced) if there was a way to get the result (target mezzed, resisted or immune) announced in the MQ2Dannet window. I used IHC385's macro for an enchanter in a previous group and it would do this. I was wondering if the same could be done with Kissassist. If so, what settings do I need to make? Or is this just the difference between the way songs work vs spells? If it is the way songs work can anyone think of anything better than setting Gina triggers? Currently, if you have both EQBCOn=1 and DanNetOn=1. The macro defaults back to EQBC and turns off DanNet. We are looking at allowing them to both be on, allowing all messaging to use EQBC and use DanNet for everything else that is DanNet.
 
Hi Guys,

I have DanNetOn=1 but EQBCOn=0 since I have switched over all commands to Dannet and didnt want an extra window running and I am getting messages that the song has begun but I am not getting the result of the song in the Dannet window. Any other things I should look for? Hoping I dont have to have a EQBC window just for bard song mezz messages. Again, thanks for the advice. My ini follows below. AnotherJohn

Looks like I need to try and set up a Gina trigger for a failure. Would vote to have a result announcement coded if at all possible. For those of us that drive a tank it is nice to know if a mezz was resisted or mob is immune and we need to try to agro the loose mob. Thanks for the response at least I can stop trying to make KA do something it cannot do yet. AnotherJohn
 
Don't know anything about the coding but I had to figure out the mezz message for GINA. The phrase is "(Target) resisted your (Name of Mezz Song)!" So I have to keep changing the name of the song in GINA as I level to keep the warning triggering. I have not gotten an immune message yet. Would be nice if you can code it into KA so it gets announced in the Dannet window and I hope this info helps. Thanks for all you guys do to keep this running for us. AnotherJohn
 
NP. I have already looked to see what I will have to change to get this to work, and sorry to say this will take changes to the bardcasting routine, which will affect other routines that will require changes as well. I have got it on the list, but I have no ETA as of yet...
 
Hey ctaylor22, if you need a bard to do some simple testing let me know I can let you log in my bard will even send you my kiss ini to help out.

if we aren't on the same server I can let you use my crew if it helps for testing.
 
Wow! I have been playing around with a bard I have, but I never play. Man I now see why Kiss is coded the way it is for bards. when using /melody or /twist. Bards don't message when they start singing, "You begin casting" or "You begin singing". They do message when they cast like an AA, but not their songs. I see how this could get complicated when trying to use events to trigger when a bard is casting/singing and the spell/song is successful.
 
Sounds complicated. The work around maybe just to have the trigger set up for GINA. It is an extra program to run but you only get the resist message for your mezz song (and I am assuming you can set up an immune message once I see one). I know in game there is a ton of bard song spam in chat windows that everyone buries since it is so annoying. You wouldn't want to move all that to the Dannet window. Didnt mean to open a can of worms for you with the original post, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something in my set up. Since there is the GINA work around this becomes more a "quality of life" issue rather than a necessity. Thanks for looking into the situation but as you said things maybe the way they are because that is how it has to be coded. Thanks for your help, AnotherJohn
 
NP, I am just going to try and work on this along with the other stuff I am working on. I was trying to find a setting somewhere that was stopping the casting messages for bards, but I couldn't find anything in the settings that would filter out bard casting messages, that I had turned off. All the settings I could find were enabled, but when I did /twist 1 2 3 or melody 1 2 3. The Bard would start playing/casting each song, but there was never any message for each song the bard cast. Same thing happens when I click a gem to cast, there is no casting message, but if I click a hotkey for an AA or item, then you get a start casting messages. I can't figure out how to get messages for songs.
