Question - Puller MA changing to Named mob, Can it be disabled?

Situation: TBL Whirlwind Trial.

I have my puller (and 3 other healing/DPS) down below killing adds and 2 ranged DPS up in the trees.

Although the red con named is further away, the puller (MA) will switch and try to kill the red con named on the aggro list and ignore the adds even if they are also on aggro. I need for the puller to keep killing the closer mobs on the ground. Is there away to disable the red con named priority?

I sort of work around it by not using puller role and having two melee assist each other and then manually pulling. This works most of the time but they still tend to switch over to target the red con named.

You can also separate your group of 6 into 2 groups of 3. If your using one healer, stand them under the cyclone on a mount (negates wind push) and use Xtarget healing on the other group members.
