Hey all!

I just installed and tried KissAssist out last night. Now I'm at work itching to get my two accounts running.

I was really struggling to get it working on my bard alt however. If something engaged me, it would attack and loot, however I couldn't get it to actively run around and pull. I set the mode to Puller, but to no avail. If I had my .ini file I would post it.

Any suggestions? I've read through the guides, but I feel like i'm missing something.

do you have this set?
Rich (BB code):
[Melee]
AssistAt=99
MeleeOn=1
FaceMobOn=1
MeleeDistance=75
StickHow=snaproll
AutoFireOn=0

and to set puller just do /mac kissassist puller

btw that is from my characters ini on ragefire

you may have to do pullertank, if you do not have a tank in the group as well.. unless you set your character to attack at 100%

I believe I had it set to 100% for attack. I'm going to box this character with a cleric to party with my SK / Wizard friends. Basically just want the Bard to pull to the cleric, and have the cleric nuke once the mob is under 75%, and heal when the bard is at 40% or so.

I tried that when he was solo, but I'll double check the .ini with what you suggested. I'll keep you posted!

Thanks Akatora!

So with lack of context it's hard to figure out what you're trying to do. Is your bard tanking and pulling? Just pulling? What is your box? A tank?

At low levels with a bard you have a couple options. You mentioned a box.

Firstly, you can do hunter mode, which basically has your bard run around killing stuff and your box in chase mode.
On Bard:
/mac kissassist hunter

Target bard on box character:
/mac kissassist
then type /chase

This is the most efficient way to do theit so you don't have to keep changing your .ini file between hunter mode and other modes.

The second option is your typical camp mode using pullertank mode. This will make your box sit in your camp spot. It's best to choose a place where the mobs wont patrol into your 'camp'.

This is simple, on bard:
/mac kissassist pullertank

If your bard is a puller and you have another character tanking, you'll want to do /mac kissassist puller on bard, and /mac kissassist tank (while targeting your bard).

You will need to adjust your .ini files accordingly no matter what you do though.

For pulling, you want your bard to have a decent range to pull, and a proper z range (how far above or below). Also making sure you have a proper spell/ability/object to use to pull. I'm not 100% sure as I've never used it, but I think 'melee' is an option as well.

There are more advanced things you can do, but this is the simplest way to get started.

I would prefer to do this all as an AFK thing primarily to test it out. So bard would be pulling/tanking, with cleric assisting.

Hunter mode sounds to be best at lower levels when there is less risk, with pullertank being the option when I move to a camp eventually or have other characters with me.

Thanks for all the advice!

Couple of tips:

Put your characters in different guilds. (create new ones if you have to!)
Don't have them be similarly named.
Use tell windows so you can see if people have whispered you.
Split out your combat to another window so you can read /say and /ooc chat at will.
Talk in zone chat occasionally.

People know others box, just don't make it obvious that you're a BOT. You can't get in trouble for multiboxing as that doesn't require anything to accomplish (effective, that's another story).

Go /anon or /roleplay if you're using an enchanter/druid/shaman as people will no doubt be /whoing for those precious buffs and services.

Don't afk for extended periods of time.

Great tips! thank you!

My new problem is my bard is attacking yellows/reds...Is there a way to set a level max for what is attacked?
