So I have been modifying my necro ini to add mana drain taps. These have to be done in the heals section, not DPS. The problem is, KA insists on running through all of the DPS spells first, and by the time it gets to the end the mob is dead. So I never get a tap.

Is there any way to make the macro use the heals section first, or before DPS, so I can get off of mind tap? Or do I just have to make the DPS section really small so as to ensure that I get to the heals?

In my experience the heal routine will always interrupt the dps routine if it's set up right. I am one of the few who uses a Druid to do double duty.

Try running your ini with the DPS size set to zero one time and see what happens? I'm thinking you don't have something set up right.

If you take the DPS routine out of the mix you can focus on the heal section to make sure it casts as intended.

Does taking out the DPS section make ANY sense?
It was mentioned as a temporary means to work on your heals section to get it to work how you intend it to. Not as a permanent solution. Once you get the heals section working as you intend, then start back up the DPS section and see how it functions. As a fellow Necro, I would place the manatap in the DPS section though. You may know by now about the point you get to where you want to start the tap. For me, after the 4th spell, I would cast tap given my lineup. It may be different for you.

I had mana drain in DPS and it didn't work. The fix, posted here, was to put it in heals. So does mana drain work in DPS now?

I have used it in DPS, yes. There have been many updates to kissassist lately,. But I don't think they should have affected it working or not

Mana Drain Taps should go in your DPS section. If you put it in your Heals section you have to use the |tap tag. On my necro I put this in my DPS section and use a condition to check that the mana drain debuff is NOT on the target. Sometimes I also check if the caster is Me or not, just depends on who I am grouping with. Put the mana drain as the first entry in your DPS section DPS1.

If you have Heals turned on the heals routine gets called before each DPS entry is checked. So heals are checked for each DPS entry you have.

I always struggle with conditions. Would you mind posting your condition for that? Jsut made a necro group.
