Question - Med in combat

Ok I know it's considered troublesome, but has someone figured out a way to have casters med in combat and between pulls?

I have a group of lvl 59 characters, and that's about the extent of my experience with casters in this game. But my limited testing and experience as a 60max cleric on TLP makes me believe that medding in combat is viable and could be a nice boost to my undergeared 59 team.
I also tried it on my "main" trio, at lvl 93 and it still works quite well with tanks generating an ungodly amount of hate. Of course at that level i would opt for a mount rather than complicated conditions but still, i don't really see at which point in game it becomes the huge nono that all macro players seems to indicate.

Mounts are the easiest solution, but sitting grabs a ton of aggro and is not suggested when you have mob incoming to camp. 99% of the time, if a character is sitting when a mob first comes into camp, will become the mobs target and if there is more than 1 mob then the character will get slammed. Then because of low HP's they get even more aggro. The macro leans more towards being better safe than sorry and stands a character if there are mobs on XTarget.
