Lost Notebook Pathing aka 69.1 + Powerlevel AA notes

Not sure how many people use this instance for xp but I do all the time. Following the wall up the left side from zone in there are 2 major pathing bugs. 1 is the small bottle neck where the first 3 spawn campfire is and the other is just up the wall till the first obelisk is about directly infront of you. The higher brown part of the wall near the bottleneck is a good spot to try and mess up the pathing for a lil extra spell casting time.

If you strafe in a half circle at eather of these spots 90% of the time the mobs gets stuck in one spot just turning enough to face you allowing for your pet classes to rape the mob. Of course this is done with snared mobs. Nobody likes an almost selos speed 1300+ quadder unsnared.

Usually takes me 3-4 hrs to 3 box this mission = 5-6 AA each + avg 165-200 hp/mana gear with some random drops ocassionaly.

I can repeat this pathing everyday so a little practice finding the spots and strafing, youll be all set. I know SoE has never worked hard on fixing pathing so this is just a way to help you make use of it insted of getting pissed. GL!

EDIT:
Tried the other day to see if I could kill a mob and gain all the xp from the kill to 1 toon. This is the same as anyother way of PLing XP i.e. Most DPS and out of group gets the xp or the FD or fade rule.

On hard mission I was recieving 34%AA a kill on HARD w/ XPx2 AA.

If you could post the /loc of where these 2 spots are it would be very helpful.

What 3 classes do you box these with?

If you go up that left wall really high, you can pull as many mobs as you like and they will stop at the base of the mountain. If your a pet class you have it made. Ive pulled the whole fort and ran up with no problem. One thing is to not move once you cast a spell up there, for what ever reason this will make the mob warp to you. With a little practice its pretty easy. Using /warp makes it that much better. =)

Sorry took so long to post this, and btw couldnt get the z axis to stop the mobs so this is where i like to get mobs stuck.

They do eventually break loose from these spots but i get then them stuck for about 50-70% of thier life.

Good aggro is recommended before sending a bunch of pets in because once you get them stuck your not going to want to stop to cast till it breaks the pathing.

I pull the zone to these 3 spots I like the larger aread to root adds in.

why would a pet class have it made ..I'd think a nuker or a dot class would be better off ...do they not attack your pet when you send it down or somthing? ..seems like a pet class would have to sit and repet and repet...

I suppose if you run out of mana, a pet class would ensure you're not helpless. Turning taunt off with pets is usually enough to make their aggro useless.

A nuker is fine too. My point is a pet class has it good. Once you got agro your pet should be gtg. Sure they die some. But you arent totally helpless once your out of mana either.
A necro friend showed this to me. Not sure where he got it from, and this is how he does it. I go there with my berserker, once he has it down to 70% or so I can usually dps as much as I want.
We did try and bring a wizzy in for AE nukes with a crowd of mobs, but for some reason it wont land. Maybe some can play with this idea more.

can summone post the loc of that wall to warp to. Also if im a bard using the target macro and i pull the zone wuold it be possible to afk chant kill all the mobs? im curious to try this out but not too sure on locs o exactly hat is required.

These mobs have alot of hp and chanting 1 song would take very long I would think, I dont have a bard built yet but dont think that would be very efficient. Also the instance is only 6 hrs takes me 4 hrs to complete if your looking to finish this mission.

Bard chant kiting even with speed hack and leaving out snare and using 4 DoT's with Crit Affliction 3 is not very efficient. PL a necro is the best way =P

Here is the waypoint from my Waypoint.ini file. I use for this. Make sure you have Levitation on. A bard does take forever to burn the mobs down, but a necro makes short work of them. Once you are in the spot do not move. I find pulling a big train and warping to this spot works quite nicely. Be carefull of warping to the spot while running along the wall, mobs may warp too you if they are against the wall themselfs when you warp. Just get a bunch of agro and head to the middle of the zone, then warp. Depending on the level the toons in your group, you may want to add both waypoints since the zone has 2 different levels of mobs. Add these to your waypoint.ini, and make a hotkey:
/warp wp safespot

So if I put a dru and and rng at the safe spot for xtra dps then pull with my brd, the will all wait there turn at the bottom of the wall? Can dru nuke and dot? Is range attack ok?

I have used a bard and a ranger in the mission as well as my necro. Not sure why, but sometimes the bards songs dont land all the time and the rangers arrows dont allways seem to do damage, but yes, you can put several ranged attack toons in that spot.

i used a bard cleric and enchanter on this bard took 12 min to kill each mob singing 3 songs that way there is no inturrption
the waypoints were good but the casting mobs will still cast on you

at lvl 69 i was getting 1.2% normal exp per kill soloing .606% trioing
in the alotted 5 hours i was able to get 8 of the books doing it this way.
must be very carefull however if any other toon gets agro they will die.
when you have so many mobs down at the bottom of wall it takes 2.3 sec to die

I tried this but the mobs warp to me. Does this still work and is there more locs that are safe?

This isntance is fixed to the point that mobs now warp less, dont get stuck on terrain much at all and they now, Stun, Nuke, Snare, DoT, CHARM, heal and dispell the debuffs DoT,snares put on them sometimes up to 5 times ina row. I no longer xp here thanks soe for fixing something that wasnt even much of a sploit.../rude


They did cast before but nothing to this extent.
