Library Heist - Katta.

Start - Arcanist Variszh -2342/-2173/-66 -- say library

Step 1, go to library (is a small portal) Updates at -1143.99/648.00/6.12

Step 2 Grab book 422/-1066/5 First floor, NE corner
step 3 grab book 879/-1259/5 First floor, SW corner
step 4 grab book 879/-1067/38 Second FLoor, NW corner
step 5 grab book 423/-1265/37 Second Floor, Se Corner
You must avoid the librarians int he library as they take your book and kick you out. 4 librarians on each floor. They roam but are easy enough to avoid.

Step 6 turn in to Arcanist Variszh for 20% aa exp, Merchant faction, 75pp

respawns less than a minute.




* I did this during the double exp weekend, exp may vary.

I highly recommend doing this legit as it is a public zone and warping / ganking may be noticed.
 
none..atm gives some faction 11% aa xp at 75 and 75pp on option 2/faction.takes about 1min using warp about 4-5 without
 
I set up a macro for all the locs so I can just hit a key for each spot. There is like a 30 second respawn on the books though.
 
I suggest using /gank while ghosting. Makes this task easy and quick as hell. You do have to trigger a location in the library, but its pretty easy quest. I've compared the XP to RSS and The Nest and doing this quest is about 3x faster XP/AA than RSS 70s camp.

Gank is a technique for picking up groundspawn items. /itemtarget <item>, then /gank. The /gank effectively warps you warp to the targeted object, picks it up, then warps back.

Nice. thanks ;-) I may give it a whirl. I usually like to just stick to using just a few items from the MQ menu so as to not draw to much attention to myself.
 
Great find will try tonight.. Is it solo only or can I pull my toons around and just ghost it solo?
 
I cant get the items targeted to use ghost and /gank..? havent used /gank much but I not sure I am typeing in /itemtarget name but it's not workin..do you type in the whole name or partial or something?
 
It won't show the target name in the window for some targets. These targets are of that variety.

Item names can be pretty funky, often non-intuitive. /itemtarget with no item name will target a groundspawn in the zone (nearest?). /gank will then grab that item.

I did this twice, set for 100% AA. I forgot to check how much xp I gained after the first run, the second run produced 46/330 or 14%. I'll run it a few more times tomorrow and watch the progress for diminishing returns.

No one else was doing this; almost like the old days of continuous tasks in Dreadlands LOL. Can't last long.

yeah...there is this guy sitting here, but I don't know for sure if he's Kosher or not so I can't get my rotation started. More than likely he's thinking same thing as me though LOL. What sucks is that those books ARE a groundspawn, therefore, you can really only have person doing it at a time unless you like....rotate or something? and that would just be a PITA.
 
when i /itemtarget i get Syntax: /itemnotify <slot#><notification or /itemnotify in <bag slot> <slot# in bag> <notification>
 
I do "/itemtarget drop" then "gank"... Most of the peeps on my server are warping from corner to corner and picking up the books. Which makes me ask the "half a dozen in one hand, 6 in the other" question: Is it safer to gank the books than to warp to each of the locs?
 
got banned for useing gank on this misson so beware think was another hacker who was complaining cause i was getting the stuff before him so he turned me in cause all the sudden yhe started doing it the right way running up there to the library and getting the stuff soon as he started doing it the right way i got booted tryed to log back in wam suspended
 
IMnsHO, one has to be asking for trouble if you use warp or gank or ghost on this mission.

It only takes about 5 min to do - straight legit. Whaddya want for 12%aa ?

What? Having the map doesn't give you enough advantage avoiding the mobs?

C'mon... Even if it takes 10 min. that's more than 1%/min.

Figure it out... 1+%/min forever... or 12%/min (ganking and warping) for a day followed by 7 days of suspension.
 
I've done it mostly half and half, both gank and legit. At first I'd get confused reading the map because I use the height filter thing on my map and I'd see the top floor mobs still showing up. Let's just say I wasn't very good at using the map at first LOL So now I use it for the most part, and just good old "watch where I'm going" common sense too. Already had one ban that I got reversed awhile back, I really don't think I want to chance it again.
I honestly didn't know that gank did a "mini" (?) warp that actually took you there for a millisecond and warped you back. Warping is what got me banned the first time, so I've been leery of that one for awhile now. I've not seen any GM's on my server since the new expansion, but "looks can be deceiving." Pretty player-dense server, so I'm sure they're around.
There's members from a certain guild on my server that are seemingly doing "warp rotations" through that quest, and it drives me crazy to be doing it legit and suddenly they're swarming all over the place landing on top of me, then poofing. They're being stupid with warp/mq2, just asking for a ban.
 
This is nerfed.

OK stupid question but these locs are in Katta castle correct??? I go to the locs and do not get an update or anything acknowledging the completion of this section. ......LOL .. ok figured it out based upon ala ... the loc points are reversed for the wap plugn I am using....

Welll after reading the book and looking at Alla I found the locs were reversed for the first to loc numbers which is why I was not finding the BOOK I was trying to GRAB ... so check the locas against Alla before you start running around
