Lesson of the Devoted "exploit"

Does anyone know if the Lesson of the Devoted exploit still works and how exactly it was done i cant remember if you had to cast a spell then duck at last second and click spell off at same time. and then lesson doesnt get taken. can someone tell if how it exaclty works and if it still does?
