Does language skill-ups work??

I've got 2 toons in the same group. One is skilled 100 in a lang. the other is at 1.

I change to the lang. and with a hotkey say the same thing over and over... in "/say" from #1 (the one wiht 100 skill)

#2 guy hears it.

I even got a macro to /keypress the hotkey to say the sentence.
But I get no skillups, even after 15 min.

Wassup with dat, anybody know?

Needs to be in group.

They are in the same group. 2 toon group. same zone. close to each other

change the language in the chat window WITHOUT the X or close button in the upper right corner and make sure you chat in that window. Filter all group messages to the main chat window (the window without the X in the corner.)

ok. it wasn't filtered to Main Chat. I'll try that

no need to filter to main chat, just set main chat language to whatever language you want to teach. I have different windows for each, group, tell, guild,etc...
All my group chat goes to the designated window, but I change the main chat window language in order to work on those skills.
