Question - Kissassist running on main 'driver' character

Hi, I'm getting used to kissassist getting my 3 x ftp chars upto speed so they can join their big brothers and sisters.

I can get kissassist to work on the two 'assistant' characters.

Question is, can I run kissassist as well on the character I'm driving so it manages all of the melee etc. as soon as I click attack?

Chances are, your drive toon is gonna be your tank or puller / puller tank. It can run KISS in any of those modes just fine. Im not too familiar with RGMercs (YET) but KISS tends to be a little more config heavy and not as easily run straight out of the box like RGMercs, or the CWTN plugins etc. There are lots of INI examples in the resources section of the site. The big downside to KISS is you have to do config changes as you level and use new spells / abilities etc.

If your a lower level toon, its probably a good idea to get used to KISS now as its easier to configure and learn as you level. If you just try to jump into it having never used it before, and your 85+ it might be a painfull experience, even with the provided INI.

Thanks. Firstly, apologies for posting this in the wrong section. Secondly, I probably didn't explain too well what I was looking for.

As my warrior, I noticed that when I attack the mob, I auto follow it if it runs, I turn to face it - none of these things are what I would consider 'normal' play, so I know some element of automation is taking place. What I'm looking for is for when I find a mob, hit it manually, is there something that will take over all of the taunts, AAs, etc. whilst I'm still driving the character.

If it is kissassist - how do I start it, do I just do a /mac kissassist 'myself' as my other two characters use /mac kissassist 'warrior'

You can run kissasist as well on the driving char. In your case, inside the ini you may define the war as tank and than start it with just “/mac kissassist”.
I have a hotbutton with only “/mqp“ in one line for my puller. You could do the same, if you like to pull with your warrior.
Before you take off to pull, you push once the hotbutton to pause kissasist.
After you are back in camp, you push the hotbutton again to unpause kissassist and let kissassist handle the mob(s) unles they are dead.
Than /mqp-hotbutton again before you run off for next pull.

/mqp will pause kissasist at any time you wish, another /mqp will proceed.

Fantastic, this is exactly what I was after. :)

I think RGMERCS is great and super fast to set up. But so far from what I have seen, nothing can replace a good kissassist ini file.
I am currently getting my new group to 120 and once I do I will be searching for some. I miss the days when there were plenty of files just had to pick one.
The more I play EQ, and the more I learn MQ2, I tend to pick a single .ini file, and modify it for me as I level. Initially I felt that others were smarter, more experienced, and had a better understanding of the .ini. As I reviewed file after file, I noticed many repetitions, and started creating my own tailor made files.

There are several different topics rolled into this one post, and I will try to pull them apart (like cotton candy at the fair)

First, inside MQ2 there are many plug-ins. One of them is called MQ2melee. This particular plug in does much of what you are taking about. it will automate many of the attack features: taunt, kick, etc. It will not (that I know of) push AA abilities for you. that's KA's job

Inside the KA .ini file for your warrior is a melee section. you will see things like face mob, chase distance, how to stick to the mob (chase, facing etc)

Initially, all of this seems daunting, and maybe even overwhelming. I promise it isnt. Just will take you a little time. I have never used KA on my driver so I do not know how that will work out. But if you are using a warrior as a puller, you clearly like doing things the hard way, so I have faith you will catch on eventually. :) :) :)

Agree with Rob. RGMercs if you don't want to invest in the CWTN plugins (assuming there is one available for the class you are driving with) and you want to "set it and forget it." KA is equally doable if you like being able to dive into the .ini's and tweak things. Just for fun, I ran a whole group for a month using only RGMercs (I normally use CWTN plugs and KA for the bard) and was really impressed with how well it worked. I still missed CWTN's stuff, but REALLY liked not having to fiddle with KA's ini every 5 levels. I am not sure it barded as well as Sic's bard KA ini, but I wasn't getting eaten on big pulls so it did its job.

My advice would be to stick with KissAssist, especially for a warrior, there is not much you will need to change as you level in the ini for that class and it is what you are currently learning for the other too s.

RGMercs is fine but you may hit some edge case that it isnt handled well which will drive you batty. Definetly if you are just jumping into a class with no ini RGmercs will get you by if you dont have time to set up a KissAssist ini but my advice is stick with KA and you should be able to pull an ini off from the library here just as easy if you are really stuck.

You can turn off the auto folow and auto face, just have a hotkey ready to pause and unpause the macro as needed.
