Question - Kissassist character won't engage melee

Ok I should know enough to fix this, but I am stumped. I messed around with my bard a lot yesterday and now he doesn't melee engage. He starts melee twist but just stands there until i press the attack button. Any idea what stupid thing I am forgetting? I even restored in old KA config and it made no diff.

Make sure you are starting it with the person you want to assist targeted or designated in the start command

Make sure your xtartget slots are set to auto populate autohater

I should have tried this earlier. Camped and restarted eqgame and all worked normally afterward with all versions of the ini that I was trying. Spooky.
