Herb gathering quest loophole

First off, Katta faction can be a bit of a pain, at least it was for me (finally ally). When TBS first launched, the herb gathering quest was pretty simple...just hand in one of each herb. Therefore you could collect as many as you could and just repeat the quest. Some time since then, they nerfed the quest to where you had to 'find' the greenhouse, loot one of each herb and then hand in each one to complete.

Well, there is a loophole with this quest. It might be common knowlege, but I haven't seen it posted here. When you have to "loot" each herb to update the quest, it will update no matter how you aquire the herb. You can recieve it from another player, drop it on the ground and pick it back up, or even loot it off your corpse should you die. The easiest way I have found to do this is to simply attempt to hand in each herb to the quest giver. Since officially the herbs are out of your possession, you will get the updates needed when the quest giver rejects the herbs. After that, simply hand them to her a second time (and you don't even have to go digging thru your bags because the herbs are on your cursor).

The fastest way I've done this is with a wizard/mage grouped together (have at least the mage bound at the greenhouse). Collect all the herbs you can carry. After that:

1. Wizard group port to Katta.
2. Do the hand ins.
3. Get a new quest.
4. Both mage and wizard gate (or mage gate and coth wizard).
5. Get the "find greenhouse" update.
6. Rinse and repeat 1-5.

I have also seen people selling herbs in bazaar...anywhere from 100-1000 plat, depending on the herb, if you don't feel like collecting a bunch.

This is pretty handy for when you can't find that katta group and you're still stuck on warmly or just trying to get faction started.

Two additional things,

For the hand in part of update...just hand her your bag with your herbs in it, then hit cancel. it will update all four herbs at once. (instead of looking at quest window to see which you have looted that time)

And if you are a Necro, Druid, Wizzy with a bunch of extra sets, bind yourself by the wall between the South East door and the South center door. Succor/turn in/gate, rinse, repeat.

If this was common knowledge, then it skipped past me. Thanks for the heads up, now going to try doing this with a pally with help from a wizzy. I think I have figured out a quick way to make this work.

i would have to say this is common knowledge, lots of people have known about this and have been selling the stuff for turn ins in bazaar

Might have been common knowlege to some, but not others. Rarely would I see these being sold in bazaar after the change. I just happened across it one day.

I can never find these in the bazaar but I can beam kite the whole building very easy and also do the kill 20 snakes task at the same time. Knock 2 out with one stone. I get about 1.5 AAs per pull plus the bonus of the tasks. Lots of down time. I pick off any non summoning mob I can while waiting for repops.
