everquest does not like being in fullscreen and swapping around to other windows and alt-tabbing and such, 100% suggest running in windowed mode.

isboxer offers that but it is a pay for thing - and can be a pain to get setup/working

I know that there is something that works as I definitely used to play like that.

I run in fullscreen with zero problems on an i5 with a 5200M and 16 gigs of ram. I box five toons this way.

I am happy that it works for you. However, many graphics cards crash when alt tabbing in EQ with full screen. I am running an rx6900 with 16gb of vram and it crashes half of the time alt tabbing.
