Hi, this is my first post, and whilst I am crap at coding / compiling I am good with other stuff, I have been working on an excel document which basically lists zone name / x loc / y loc / z loc / description of where to warp to

For instance: (this is not from actual doc btw)
Vergalid Mines 1215.56 696.31 69.65 warp to safe loc non aggro by vergalid
Split Paw 3233.30 1215.15 696.30 safe area at officer camp

Using this method it is easy to also list and store macro locations and multiple quest locs

I assume you get my drift, I find this great to use as long as MQ2MAP is running so I can see who is where in the zone, I also get to remember all the "old world zone locs@ I find useful to visit occasionally, anyway if anyone shows an interest in this, I will post the document (which has filters) and hopefully people can make additions as and when they find them making it a live document for all to use :) thoughts are also welcome on additional content, and I can also add this prior to posting.
p.s Dont flame me if i posted this in the wrong place......

I'm also working on a few macro's that I hope to post when they are bug free

I have added the basic document so you get the idea, more comments welcome before i finalize the format.........

I think this is a good idea- and its great that you are trying to find ways to contribute to the community, so for that I say thank you. As far as the excel document goes- it would be great to have a location database like that. I suggest making it as organized as possible so that it is easy to refer to.

Very good Idea I have been thinking of something like this for myself just to dam lazy lol. . .Cant wait to see what ya got ;-)

You also don't need to be so accurate as to have a hundredths place in the locs. Rounding to the nearest 5 whole number is accurate enough in most spots.

Answer to the topic question, very interested. I'd actually offer to help out if you'd like, I am a rogue and I can easily get to anywhere to record a loc except for Deathknell or instanced TSS stuff.

I don't see much use for an Excel sheet. The idea is great, should just do it like TP said, make it a waypoints.ini so it can be easily accessed within the game.

If you post the excel sheet, I bet I can write a macro to convert it to INI form. Depends on how you form it.

FTW, a utility to merge the resulting list into an existing trek.ini or waypoints.ini. It would ignore true duplicates, and flag duplicate keys with differing locs (prolly other useful features to be dreamed up, but those would be a good start).

Seems your onto something here you get this many big guns talking about it. Your moving onward .... i would be interested .... maybe this could also be used to randomize some of the points and make it less obvious when piggyzonig through

Yup was gonna say the same thing... warping into the same location everytime by multiple people might get some attention. But sounds great

Ok , looks like there is some interest, glad I can offer something other than my crap attempts at coding, ill the document cleaned up a little with some more content and post it, maybe some clever git can make an ini file from it :-)
Cheers
