So what is the recommended EQEMU server for MQ2 users?
I would expect to have 6-24 chars

Ideally server as close to Live as possible with no fancy non-Live things

What Maskoi said. EZ Server allows MQ2 but doesn't allow AFK and also doesn't allow complex botting; it doesn't allow things like MQMelee, Kiss Assist, etc. It basically just supports MQ2 things like using EQBC. The admin has made it clear they don't want chars automated, so you can use MQ2 but you have to set up socials to use EQBC to tell your chars what to cast or attack and you have to press the socials manually.

That being said I'm sure a lot of people still use many of the automated MQ2 features but as of Q3 last year it was still technically against the rules, but the rules are kind of ambiguous in that regard.

P99 def doesn't allow anything and Al-Kabor doesn't allow MQ2 AFAIK (but does allow 3 char manual boxing). Not sure about P2002 or others.

I'll have to check out PEQ - I've always wanted to try it but haven't had a chance yet. Thanks for the heads-up!

PEQ's accuracy has also been increasing a great deal recently. Still a lot of zones that need some TLC, bu it's much more accurate than it was in the past.

EQTitan is also a good one to look at. Everyone on there is running at least a 6 box crew, many running 24+ Myself I'm running 36. They have really good tools on the website also. Allows you to limited browsing of the server database, loot tables ect. There are also tools for searching all your toons inventory, money, spells, etc. Similar rules to PEQ but a little more lax.
