EQ zoning , LD help (1 Viewer)

Hi, wondering if there was a program out there that would keep me connected to EQ better while zoning. If I zone often during a macro or something I end up crashing after just a few minutes of zoning.

I don't think the crashing has anything to do with MQ... I watch my pc zone fine for 5 to 15 min's (zoning one zone after the other, not warp or /zone) just normal zoning before it LD's.

I hear my computer's hardrive slow down or whatever. Computer will be wizzing away and then drvvvvvvvvv slow down. That is when I know for sure it's going to ld.

Anyway, REALLY need something to help if possible, anything !!!

will something like eqplaynice help ? remember something about that from years ago.

Thanks !!

.....forgot to add, while zoning like this I have all setting's in EQ graphics wise to a minimum.....

It really sounds like your comp needs more ram. I used to have the same problem on my comp. Some macros are processor heavy. And if too much info tries to go thru its like the comp tries to put the macro on hibernation mode till the eq program gets zoned. Then I think what happens is the macro causes the LD. I had a 512 and a 256 stick in there. Now I got 2 gigs of ram and its rare if I crash. I don’t know if this is your problem but it might be.

PS if you are running 2 characters on one comp it zones faster if you look down to the ground. then zone

Also turn off your anti-virus program that helps a ton for zoning faster. Just don't look at porn web sites while you play. :D

But most likey SOST is right, the more ram you got the faster eq runs it's a memory hog.

Do you have a router? I know I had a big problem with mine for a while. It treated EQ as a Denial of Service attack until I updated the firmware. It worked fine until POR packet changes.

I am with someoneorsomething it sounds like you need mroe ram cause the macro running and eq are fighting for memory space and it is causing you to start using your swap file on your hard drive, alot.

how many instances of EQ are you running. I run 4 everyday running macro's and such with just a 2gigs of ram. I do strip out a lot of the new models that I don't wish to see. Also consider EQplaynice it may help.

I have a router also. How do I update the firmware ?

What type do you have? Typically you login to the router (typcially in a browser ) and update the firmware by uploading the new version of the firmware. The router will crunch on it and then update and reboot. Not something I'd do all willy nilly but if you can run eq fine w/o the router and crash with it update it.
