I'm messing around with my ranger and redoing the ini and I want Spell Frozen Wind (Spell ID 43478) Level 102. I'm watching it and suddenly the ranger sits in middle of combat to mem a spell. Level 63 Frozen Wind (Spell ID 3418).

I know this isn't KA's problem but anyway to distinguish these two spells?

I had the 102 in there and the ranger kept sitting to mem. I look and I couldn't believe that SOE had put duplicate names and in the same spell category too (direct damage/cold). Fix for now is just remove this from my DPS because KA is obviously looking for the older spell. Both spells can be up at same time. Only solution I can think of is if KA allows for me to put the spell id instead of name.

Not sure where the error is. THD or Maskoi will have to make that call. I know we check to see if the spell is in a Spell Gem. Could be something with detecting the new spell. KA uses MQ2Cast_Spell_Routines.inc. We Pass the Spell Name, but not the Spell ID. The include file uses the MQ2Cast plugin and the plugin will allow for either the "Spell Name" or Spell ID. Not sure what it will take to fix but I am sure THD or Maskoi will be making an appearance before to long.

Open your spell book and find the low lvl frozen wind and right click it, then go to the last page in your spell book and right click the last spell spot in the book. Cast will look through your spell book front to back and find the first instance of the spell to match the spelling, so moving it to the end should fix it.

Saar,
If that is so, and the order it is in the pages of the spellbook effect the order in which spells are looked up for existence check.. then this is a good workaround and we say thanks !

Advising user to use saar's method if unable to delete the lower level spell.
Regardless, user should report back with results.

Saar's solution worked....I imagine deleting spell would've worked too.

I was going to be lazy and just wait to get Rk. II/III to fix it but thanks for the workaround

OK I got the RK. II a few hours later and this solves it as well
