I been using one spot lately a lot that yields me abou 25-30 AAs per 24 hour afk exping.
When you zone to commonlands from Bloody Kith (SoD version) you set up your camp at first bunch of mobs you see, near barricades. They are spread out and agro in groups of 3.
I usualy camp there with my 3 toons+2 healers and 1 tank. I clear the camp, then bring roamers 4 of them and put my magician on pet assist (very simple macro that runs /assist xxx, /pet attack every 80 seconds). This is the time mobs usualy die. I know it's not pure afk exping and if caught you could probably get a warning or a ban, but it's not as hardcore as other ways of MQ exping. I been doing simple macro exping for past 5-6 months now? I know we have all sorts of tools, but I like to keep low profile.
It is a lot better exp then I was getting in various katta camps. My toons have 1500+ AAs and they get as mentioned before, 25-30 in 24 hours of afking.
Now If I would have working aaspend
Try it out if you got few toons to afk. I dont think merc alone would manage dps wise, so maybe 2 tank mercs+healer would work aswell if no pet class. DPS from commonlands mobs on T5 tank is quite low.
My setup:
85sk, 85shaman, 85magician, T5 tank, T5 healerx2. healers are in efficient and balanced mode. Toons itself pretty much fill the spot, except for magi pet to add some dps.
