Custom UI's

i have looked at the UI system. I don't know XML though and with the stuff on EQInterface I got no where. what i want is a custom UI, not really "custom", with the original UI and some added MQ2 effects. like GM detect and distance from nearest player. also some other things that MQ2 can do like so real short macrocommand that I just type during game. but could any one help me with this or maybe just show me their own design?

I dont write my own UI's, But I do tinker alot to customize made ones for myself.
