Question - bard or enchanter for crew

couple quickies

Bard:
Pro: no low mana mezzing issues, can cast on the run, BARD SPEED, many buffs stack with everything else anyone else casts on you.
Con: buffs, effects very low duration, only mezz one at a time

Enc:
Pros:Many good duration buffs, multiple mob mez-ability, runes,
Con: OOM and meditation times, some posible buff stacking issues.

There are probably many more, but I don't play PoP level toons, and personally prefer enchanter myself...twisting songs becomes very much too situational for me..

If you are asking in regards to it filling a role in a group of toons, Enchanter is the way to go. If you are asking from a standpoint of you playing on that particular toon for enjoyment, then that's going to be more for preference.

Specifically from an efficiency and execution standpoint while automating the toon with KA, ENC outperforms bard in almost all aspects of the CC/buff/debuff role on an automated bot. And FYI I'm speaking from experience on the progression servers, not live.

Higher level bard can ae mez. I've used both as bots. Bard buffs are pretty nice to have. I use enchanter currently mainly for the exp aura. I have a bard that I probably will swap out later.

Also, not sure it's needed now but before I left bard swap was an amazing plugin to use for getting instrument bonuses.

Using a lvl 105 bard and noob's Autobard mac I see faster AE mez lockdowns than my enchanter using kiss. Bard also brings a bunch of other benefits.

Enchanter over bard - always.

Unless you need the melee Adps buffs (or in the case of TLPs Resist songs) you're better off not even bringing a bard. ((that holds true for both live and TLPs))

I'm a bard hater though - I have proven with math back in RoF that bringing a bard was all around pointless to do unless you were playing Melee. Ever since then I have been adamantly against using one on any of my box teams. On the TLPs though you actually NEED at least one or two bards to raid. Sad times.

I'd like to see the math. My kill times go down noticeably when using the bard over the enchanter so much that I've taken to keeping the chanter out of BOTH of my farm groups. I just stick him next to one group for buffs and a little extra dps. The SK / CLR / BRD / WIZ / WIZ / BST group is by far the best combo I've found for DPS and mana regen.

I started with 1 bard for pulling on TLP's, then wanted to kill bigger and badder stuff, bard in each group required for resists. I still keep my chanter because I'm a lazy puller and dont like to split mobs if I dont have to. Then came mobility, Selos makes traversing most zones easy peasy too

If you dont see that you will need to mez more than 1 mob at a time I would go with a bard over chanter. Anything else, Chanter = Easymode

Bard suck to configure as a bot if your situations change commonly, you will need multiple ini files to switch between. I run mine maunally more often than not. Park or stick-n-twist.
