Problem - Bard macro just randomly hangs

Bard is assisting main tank, she is my looter. She works perfectly. Her afk tools are all set to 0 to assure no interuption. She just randomly stops doing anything. Singing fighting,looting like her macro has been intentionally/ end but no mention of it in mq window l8ke when i really do hit /end.

I can move her manually without a problem.

Normally any of my toon who are running kiss if i move them they snap back to where they were before i mov3d them or i cant move them at all unless i end macro. So her macro is hanging somehow . She is on same computer as others so unsure if it is tge Marco itsdelf or just a glitch that happens alot.

I notice there is a posting that your aware of the bard issue but it hasn't been identifief yet. Is this what you mean. Or is it something else

What might help us would be to create a log file when this happens. Make sure you have MQ2Log loaded and create a hotkey with these commands.

/mlog on
/delay 1s
/echo DebugAll

Just wait till your Bard locks up again and just press the kotkey. Let it run for a bit then use the /mlog off command and end the macro.

Now in your MQ2 Programs directory there is a Log directory. In that log directory you will the log file associated with your bard. Copy and paste the text into a different file and remove any messages that have your characters names. we need the debug text to see what is going on.

First, ty i will debug next time it happens...

Second, yes spells greyed out but not actually doing anything. I evrn click a spell to purposely stop casting butnnothing. . It just still hangs. Bu5 will do a debug next go round.

There is a bug right now that will stop bards cold, they get stuck on a song (perhaps an issue with MQ2cast or MQ2twist if not kissassist) but if you click a spell gem, it will be fixed. The bug appears once every 4 hours or so for me.

But since clicking the spell doesn't stop the bug, it sounds like you have a different issue.

I have had the same issue as well and I believe I have found a temporary fix (been working for 2-3 weeks now). I can't post it right now as I'm not at home, but it has to do with adding an additional /twist off in the [SUB: CombatReset] section in the KA mac.

Finally back home, here is the section of code I modified that appears to have fixed my problem with my bard hanging/locking up starting around line 1090 in kissassist.mac:

Nice try, but song-freeze bug persists. Maskoi said it's likely to be something in MQ2Cast or MQ2Twist. I may also try running an old version of KISS. Do you recall the last version where this wasn't a problem?

Well, it must have been over 6 six months ago... I'd have to go back and see when I first started posting about my lockups. I'm at work now so I can only quickly browse the RG site so I can't check my previous posts just yet.

Something else I remembered..... the discussion of lockups if I recall was related to the bard using clickies in the KA toon ini file. I took all of mine out of my buff section and burn section[Epic click] (never had any in my DPS) and moved them all to holyflags. That seemed to have stopped my lockups, but then it happened again and then that is when I started diggin' around in the KA mac and put in my temporary fix, which has worked for me for the last several weeks. So I believe it is a few things affecting bards, clickies and timing for /twist off as well.

My bard was afk all night long, and when I left the house this morning my team was still grinding away, so had a good 8 hours of time without lockups on my bard.

Very interesting, so with your fix + no clickies you have no lockups?

I just started running KA 7.2 (from March) on my bard and will report back.

So seems the little code has helped, only thing now if i set bard as main looter with radius 100 mobs too close 0 she loots randomly, unless i set a second toon to loot then the fight over it and nothing is left behind. Lol but want bard to always loot... :(

I've had times where my bard will hang on songs after casting an item, but I don't think it's MacroQuest related. If I do /melody 1 2 3 4, and manually click an item when in the middle of a song cast, I get the greyed out song gems. I haven't tried with MQ unloaded. This could be just an EQ problem.

Believe it or not .... we have NOT abandoned this issue, nor have we swept it under the carpet.
Maskoi was testing a solution to this yesterday during changes to KissAssist 8.0 that arose from public beta testing.
Last I spoke to him, he believes he found the issue and is working on its change within KA 8.0.

this happens to me too just using /twist for long periods (letting twist run for half hour or more). typical;y will happen when using clickies. have to kill twist and restart it normally to fix.

Thats part of the change that went into the CastWhat routine alterations.
1)Finding current twist state 2)/stopping twist/3)casting/4)re-enabling twist to pre-cast state.

Once it was rebuffing the Aura (Va`Ker I think). The other time, not sure but it was a song. I had already removed all item buffs since that seemed to make the problem occur less.

I am currently working on fixing this lockup issue. It is very random and i have not been able to duplicate it enough to pinpoint the issue.

In the meantime make sure you have the most recent Kiss and do a /kisscheck.
