Problem - Auto Update error

My latest version is 20160925... new version 20161012 is available. I run the update program and I get this:

Error trying to save file: Error downloading "https://www.redguides.com/update/live/?update=veryvanilla.20160925.to.20161012.wyu&pkey=": The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request.

We've had 3 people with this issue (including yourself) and I have no idea, but I'd love to find the cause.

What version of Windows are you running?
How much space do you have?
Do you have .net framework 3.5? Check windows updates (make sure they're on)

Yes, Windows updates on, and fully up to date

Alright, that issue is because you're running wyupdate.exe

You need to run update.exe. Without update.exe, wyupdate will throw a 400 error.

Is your update.exe crashing?

Solution (thanks for testing drcrimzon!):

Go to your MQ2 folder and delete "cookie"

Re-run the update and let us know if it doesn't fix it.
