I know there's a lot of mention from old threads with KA not working well on EMU/EZ but other than assist speed, for me it works flawlessly.

Is this normal/common issue or is it just the server I'm on? Assisting is very slow, currently I'm just hitting a hotkey to force assist early in combat which is working fine, but wondering if there's something else I can do/change to improve this? I'm using the latest version of KA, and the RG build

Thanks!

Question: How long is it taking that it's concerning you? I play on Test and Live and I think it does occasionally take some time to kick in. Occasionally it has to do with camp radii and melee characters.

All in the same group.
A solid 5 seconds to engage more often than not.

Not sure if it helps but, maybe it has something to do with how its watching the MA
Heals are perfect on all party members but Cures work on all party except MA

Well 5 seconds seems like a long time when your watching for something. Kissassist has a lot to keep track of, and it tries to do all that while NOT in combat. So once Kissassist sees you have NO aggro, it gets to work.

The main loop in kiss has a 6 second time lapse, well it was 6 seconds last time I checked it, from top to bottom if nothing has to actually be done. That means it spends 6 seconds just checking if it has work to do. So you can bet that 90% of the time that a mob is pulled to camp, not everyone is in the assist routine waiting to grab the ma's target and then dropping into the Combat routine to start fighting.

Even Just checking for if it is time to fight or not, after getting a target, is a complicated effort. And when you do finally get to the combat routine with sword or staff in hand. The mob may still not be ready to attack(AssistAt), and if that is the case. Then you get to start all over again with assisting and then dropping back into combat.

So with all that said, what I do to try and see if it is just bad timing, I try and set my AssistAt=100 and see how things turn out. This normally always turns out good for response time, but bad for other reasons. Then I will change my AssistAt=99 and see how things go. In most of my tests, that 5 second delay, has to do with waiting for the mobs HP to drop below the AssistAt value.

I concur with @ctaylor22. I found setting my assist values to 98 and 99 works out better. If you're low level and fighting deep reds, 100 may be reasonable.

macros take time to work...they got to run the whole macro pretty much and then go back to the top....it has to check all the ifs and ands and buts....plugins are a bit faster

If you had identical logic in both, the difference between a plugin and a macro is not going to be that much. Not to any degree you would really notice it.

I notice that my berserkers using mq2berzerker almost always engage before my kiss bard. They all have hp set to 99. It isn't a huge difference but it is noticeable. Either way I can't remember them taking 5 seconds or more. Normally we are talking a total of a second plus or minus a half second. My cleric is running IHC and I don't run anything on the MA. If you are seeing 5 seconds or more on any regular basis then you might want to look into it further.

Thanks for the input all, much appreciated. Just gonna keep going how it is for now. This server is pretty basic so I can just hotkey whats not perfect for the circumstance.

the best way to make a macro bot assist faster is to make it smaller! like take out crap thats not needed lol
