I have a few nagging problems that I am sure are settings related but cant seem to solve. Thought I would get some expert advice on where to start looking.

My major problem is I like to drive my group with a monk and not have it be the MA. I have a Warrior that I set as the tank and MA and the rest of the group will assist the Warrior. I can then manually assist the tank if I choose or go off and pull something else or even off tank a bit if there is an add that can't be mezzed. I figured after looking around that starting the Monk with /mac Kissassist Manual would be the answer to my problems. I would like the Monk to auto buff and follow my Kissassist DPS conditions. So after starting in Manual mode I type in /buffson. I get a response that "Buffson are set to on". This does the right buffs at the right time, so far so good. The problem starts when I type in /DPSon. I get a message that reads "DPSon set to ". The DPS section is not on and does nothing and when I open my Kissassist.ini for the monk the DPSon=1 has been changed to DPSon= . It erases the 1 and leaves it blank. I am not sure why this would happen. I know it is communicating since it is making a change but not sure why it is making the change it does, especially since the /Buffson works fine. Any ideas? Is the command wrong? I did try /DPSon=1 and got an invalid command error. Guess I am looking for either a different setup to let me drive the monk independently or a fix to how I can get the DPSon in manual mode.

I have been keeping a list of things that have happened over the last few month that are just annoying small things that I would like some info on. First, I get an error when starting a macro on all my toons, "could not find comparetipwnd". Everything seems to run fine but got me to thinking, what is the comparetipwnd?, what does it do? Is this error in the Kissassist settings or in my UI settings? Should I even worry about fixing?
Second, Is there any reason why when saving a Mesh it gets saved in a MQ2nav folder that is inside the Mq2nav folder. The instructions on how to us the Mesh Generator suggest this can happen but didnt suggest why or how to fix. Easy enough to manually move the file after saving but not having to would be nice.
Third, every so often when running the Monk in Kissassist Manual mode the monk will retarget himself, not sure why. It seems random but happens every few minutes. Not a big deal but annoying when I am trying to target a NPC and type something and by the time I finish typing I am targeting myself.
Fourth, I have a Mage that I use to give pet toys to another group members pet. I use the command /bct ToonName //pettoysplease Group. This has always given the group pets one of each item and stopped. For some reason it now just keeps giving the same 4 items over and over and doesn't stop.
Last a question, do you have to assign a role in the Kissassist.ini? If I dont want toon to assist or be MA could I leave blank?

Thanks for looking. None of these things rose to the level of posting individually but since I was posting the one figured I would see if anyone had thoughts on the small "quality of life" things. Any ideas on things to try or places to look for solutions is always appreciated.

Try "/DpsOn 1". Works for me. Same with buffson "/BuffsOn 1" for on, "/BuffsOn 0" for off.

Regarding the MQ2Nav folder.
the Mesh Generator will make the MQ2Nav folder under what ever folder you set as the root in setup. You probably set MQ2Nav as the root hence.. /MQ2Nav/MQ2Nav.
How to fix it? Run mesh generator, Click "File" then "Settings". Adjust folders as needed. (don't forget to copy the meshes to the correct folder)

Kissassist roles.. set something in the ini and don't worry about it. Make a hot botton with what ever role you want. ie "/mac kissassisst PullerTank" or "/mac kissassist Manual" and it will override what is in the ini.

I had the same problem with the mage for a long time. I did notice that if I'm running mq2wire.. mage acts normally giving all toys to the pet. Not sure why but it works every time for my enchanter.

Hope that helps.

Wolfborn,

Thanks for the info. Used /DPSon 1 and it works. I guess /buffson is a toggle but /dpson is not and needs a number. I thought /dpson 1 would just change the number in the ini not to enable the dps section in Manual mode. The other complicating factor is all my DPS have a Condition. I removed the condition on one DPS and it did fire, so this may mean I have a problem with my condition statements (the conditions were met and they didnt fire). Will look into that but thanks for getting me to that next step. I know that at least the DPS Section should be working in Manual mode.

I reset my Mesh Generator settings to end with the /release folder. I did indeed have it set to end in /MQ2Nav. Will see what happens next time I need to generate a mesh.

I found an MQ2EQwire program that looks like a paid add on to help with CPU usage. I will read up on that and see if it is worth getting for other reasons. Not sure it is worth doing just to fix the pet toys problem.

Again thanks for sharing your ideas, AnotherJohn

don't bother with manual mode. Run KA as normal on your monk. Make a social with /mqp and push that social whenever you go out to pull and it will pause KA. When you get back to group, push it again and KA will take over.

/buffson just toggles the buffson variable and can be overridden by passing 1 or 0. /dpson writes to the ini file and requires you to specify the value you want written.

Did some changing and testing in game, here are the results:

First I copied the mqui_comparetipwnd.xml from the default folder to the UI folders I use (there was not one there before I did this) I loaded all my toons and still get the error. I did find the thread eqtrader74 referred me to previously but didnt see the mqui_comparetipwnd.xml because I was looking for comparetipwnd.xml or equi_comparetipwind.xml so didnt look far enough down to find it in the default directory. I was (and still am) afraid to wipe my install of MQ2 and reinstall because I have made so many changes to things to get it to run as well as it does I am afraid I will make things worse. I am not even sure what the comparetipwnd does and not sure if it affects the way I play. I just wanted to fix any errors I could as I go along, just not sure the reward (if any) is worth the downside of a reload and losing settings it took me hours to set up.

Second, yes the monk did have a heal and a cure which would have caused the program to retarget to its self. I turned those off and it still does retarget but with this new idea you planted I am sure it is the "Fists of Wu" buff it throws on itself every minute. This is a buff that I would prefer to be cast during a fight but I have not been able to figure out a way to make this happen (even did a previous post to try) so I have set it to just be on all the time. Seems to work fine except the retargeting thing, I guess I will have to just live with for now if I want buffs to be automated. I am guessing just the fact the program is self buffing is going to make the target switch every once in a while depending on check timer...I never thought of this until eqtrader74 mentioned the heal but makes total sense.

Third, interesting idea SA_krycek but since I want to be able drive the toon even during fights, like if an unmezzable add appears or an egg sack spawns, I want to be able to switch on the fly to the new target and still have the DPS section under the programs control. I have had problems in the past where my driver toon would lock on to the MA's target and not let me switch until mob died. I never did figure out if it was a setting in MQ2melee or Kissassist but I have gotten to the point where it doesnt happen any more. I have also tried Kissnomove11 which works well except on a pull it will spin me back around to the mob the MA has targeted as I approached the camp, which is why I was wondering if I had to set a role for the driving toon. I dont want the driving toon to be MA, I like the tank picking up a mob and me reacting to that. I couldnt figure out a role that would work and was wondering if I could leave it blank or put NULL there to make it even more independent.

Like I said in the title, these are small, nagging problems that would be nice to iron out but I can work around them. Kissassist does an amazing job on the heavy lifting stuff. I am able to work around the small stuff I mentioned but was wondering if there was a better way to set stuff up that I just didnt know about. I am constantly improving my set up over time as I read the posts and get exposed to and incorporate new ideas. The program is incredibly versatile so am just trying to tailor it as best as I can for the way I want to play. Thanks for the ideas and of course any new suggestions are appreciated, even if I dont use them now I may need to know this info when I try something new down the road.

Control your own movement : https://www.redguides.com/community...-maskoi-01-04-2019-version.68876/#post-378841

If you were the MA, you would be able to switch targets, if your in assist move, you can not. My main toon I run is always the MA, so I can change targets at will. Unfortunately you as you mentioned if your not the MA, you can not switch targets.

For your heals and buffs, do you need to target yourself? In the dps section you could use |Tap?

Heals1=Fists of Wu|99|Tap
HealsCond1=${Me.CombatState.Equal[COMBAT]} && !${Me.Buff[${Spell[Fists of Wu].RankName}].ID

OR

DPS1=Fists of Wu|99|Tap
DPSCond1=!${Me.Buff[${Spell[Fists of Wu].RankName}].ID

Also, if you are getting spun around be sure FaceMobOn = 0, this should prevent that.

[Melee]
AssistAt=100
MeleeOn=1
FaceMobOn=0
MeleeDistance=75
StickHow=snaproll
AutoFireOn=0
UseMQ2Melee=0

Deathlock,
Thanks for this new information. FaceMobOn was set to 1 in the Melee section of the .ini. I have changed this to 0. I will try running Kissnomove11 again and see if that stops the spinning towards the target when the MA/Tank targets it (I suspect it will). I will also do some research on the |Tap command. I thought it could only be used in the heal section and only on specific spells, AA's or Combat Abilities. It looks like from what you are suggesting it is a bit more versatile than I thought and I should be making more use of it.

The more I learn the more amazing all this becomes, thanks for taking the time to improve my knowledge base, AnotherJohn
