Question - 3 box - Ragefire Progression

I have a question regarding boxes.

On live I've never boxed more than 2 characters. Now that I'm playing Ragefire, I play a main Necro, and I added 2 more accounts and I'm trying to get the best bang for my buck so to speak.

My idea was Necro/Dru/Pal. It's a bit of a weird combination, I know.

My thinking was Necro, can charm/mez/slow undead, pal can tank/dps/slay undead, druid for utility heals, buffs, dots, nukes, ports, etc.

Does anyone have other opinions? I really like the necro.

Necro/Cleric/Wizard, Putting a melee at the front lines with no slower might not work out the best. Unless sticking to undead(really limited areas to go) is gonna get real boring.

I like my necro and don't really want to change him. My natural second choice was a druid, for all the utility. As for the 3rd class, I've tried to weigh all the possibilities and haven't come up with a definitive answer. My second and third accounts are both low levels, and could be easily changed around.

A shaman really compliments a necro pretty well. An enchanter would provide a lot of utility actually as well as a tank, but you'd have to actually play the enchanter more so than the necro. Druids are obvious choices. Wizards provide tons of DPS and would have a tough time pulling realistic aggro while the necro kits. I personally prefer SK tanks over Paladins, but that's pretty subjective.

The suggestions will obviously change depending on if you're using macros to control your characters, as well as which characters.

I don't object to using macros, I've just never used any of those things on live servers. I have experience with mq2 and eqbcs on eqemu servers, but not on live servers.

Then it really comes down to what you're trying to accomplish then.

With a tank/healer/necro, you can kill pretty much anything safely. Meaning, it opens up mobs that summon. You can FD crawl and get to obscure camps and rez your 2 boxes in (ghetto coth). Lots of things open up when you actually use a tank!

You could macro a Wizard + something like a Shaman for heals. Macro the Wizard to just start nuking at a certain %. The Shaman can dot/slow/debuff (helps a little with your pets melee since all 3 of those classes have pets)

You could rock an Enchanter + Necro + Shaman/Druid as mentioned before. Play the enchanter charming stuff and macro your necro and shaman/druid to dot the crap out of things/slow for your pet/ Torpor your pets. Necros + Shaman + Enchanter gives you 3 resist debuffs. Scent from the necro doesn't help with charm though. Druid offers ports/evac. Both can heal. Once pop comes out, needing a porter will be less required, though.

You could do Bard + healer + necro. Will give you Selos (3 minutes), added dps from bard dots (which double as resist debuffs).

All of these things can be macroed. It really just depends on what you want.

If I was strictly playing a necro, I'd probably go with the Wizard + Shaman + Necro. Seems like a fun little group comp and with POP coming soon, there will be many outdoor zones and many places to kite/camp.

If you want to stick to murdering purely undead mobs, I'd go with your necro + paladin + druid combo. Paladins do some really good DPS on undead mobs, coupled with the fact that they are a tank.

I like the idea of both of these. But, I personally feel that you need a slower to maintain a tank. Which makes it sound like tank/sham/necro would be the way to go.

It sort of depends on what you're trying to kill if you need a slow. A shaman is a great option though for sure. Especially with POP coming out.

If you are set on necro and a tank, I'd definitely go the Shaman/Paladin/Necro route.

Slow, Shaman Buffs, Mini cleric buffs, Back up heals and 90% rez with the paladin. Group is solid vs undead, but still a good group vs anything else.
