Well, I took a long break (since last Thanksgiving) from playing, but am back and happily going over my ini files with fresh eyes. I cleaned it up due to some AA updates DPS patched in while I was gone and have re-uploaded it. Musing Gambit is included at spell slot 7, but I haven't made use of it just yet.
Sorry for the lack of updates, but the past month has been very hectic IRL! If you checked out my initial post, you may be relieved to know that I recently went over my file to make corrections and changes based on what WIZ was doing vs. what I expected WIZ to do. Now DPS is more consistently running in the 80k - 100k range on trash, but still bounces into the 50K - 130K range on trash based on fight length, lucky crits, and procs per fight. I use Gamparse for dps tracking. Sometimes I will throw my past 100 fights into Excel to take an avg DPS when comparing changes. I know that sample size is relatively small for serious testing, but at this point I am ironing out bugs more than tweaking a great base. The current build is more mana intensive than the previous build, which was way too conservative IMO. I consider this a good improvement, but still want to find a nice balance. The particular camp in which I tested the new ini is low-volume killing, high-exp with lots of down time after clearing and no named mobs. I need to do testing under different situations to see how well it works in regards to needing med breaks.
Pre-update #2 (a): I have drafted some changes to use Musing Gambit in place of Musing Harvest with conditions written to prioritize Wildflash Strike while it's up for an easy proc. I also added Cloudburst Thunder to the rotation for a bit of mana conservation between the Ethereal spells (not including Braid) since I could see it being problematic in an area of constant pulls and named burning.
Pre-update #2 (b): I tested my update #2 draft and it kept throwing errors at me that I usually see when I forget # in DPSx=Spell|##. Not sure where the error was, but I made a significant number of changes so I am going to have to test line-by-line to see what I missed. Looked over the code a couple times to double check that everything in the DPS section was OK and did not see an obvious error. It's been a few days and I'm still trying to figure this one out; slow I know...
This community has been wonderful and so helpful in my re-addiction to EQ (with boxing). There is a shortage of WIZ resources in the library compared to other classes, so I wanted to give back to the community by posting my WIZ KA file, which is hopefully useful to people, though I am sure it can be improved. As with the other KA files, you may find tweaks needed based on your gear and AAs relative to mine, though mine is a fairly low bar given the lack of prestige gear.
Spell usage is based on various discussions of wizard DPS:

Here are some notes about what you may want to change in the file:
If mana is a problem, change DPSSkip=0 to 1 - 5 in order to slow down casting; higher than 5, I think WIZ will spam Claw + GoM procs (see my to do list below, because I plan to add a better conditional check to use more mana-friendly nukes)Non-TBL105/110 WIZ should substitute Dichotomic Fire for instances of Dissident FireNon-TBL105/110 WIZ should substitute Shocking Vortex for instances of Stormjolt VortexBuffs6 & Buffs10 should be adjusted for your chest clicky & mount
Reasoning/logic behind conditions:
Cond1 - AA abilities used to burn named mobsCond2 - Use Improved Twincast (IT) for named burn if not buffed with IT and named mob has enough health to use ITCond3 - due to the longer CD on Vortex, I don't want to use it on a near-dead mobCond4 - Ethereal Braid does not Twincast (TC), so I do not want to avoid wasting TCCond5 - Cond7 Check for short-term buffs/procs, TC or IT to prioritize casting Ethereal spells with damage buffs; additional, non-conditional use of these spells with lower priorities so that KA checks for buffs first and moves on to casting first-available Ethereal spell if no buff is foundCond8 - uses Force spells when IT is up. I am trying to figure out a good condition to use for Force spells so I can move these up on the DPS=2 priority without spamming them, blowing through mana and low DPSCond9 - use Twincast on cooldown if I have a target and it has sufficient health to cast both Twincast and a spell
