Last time I did this I would use promised heals too because their aggro is given to the healed not the healer. You could also sacrifice one of the mobs for tap aggro

as a ftp (assuming this also means only the free expansions) you can wear the obscured armor, you just can't go to laurion inn to get the vendor piece. If you can get someone to get it for you you can wear the armor no matter your sub status and it will be better than waxing

I'm not sure what you mean. It's an equipped effect so you'd have to be able to equip to get the buff or is that a weird loophole I haven't heard of?
