I believe you have to be the one doing the charming to do the hand in. When you charm a mob it becomes indiff to all other players, but your faction has to be higher then that to do this particular quest... and when your the pet's master, it is higher.

Easiest way is to unlock the evil eye shroud, it has a nearly unresistable charm... bada bing... easy hammer. :-)

Long before I ever used DoCrack, I'd notice I'd get bugged purely accidentally into having the same effect. It was really weird, but nice when it happened. As soon as I zoned or died it was gone. Anyway, just a funny aside.

Both of my toons are down to needing only the gauntlets, haven't seen one drop in 50 hours of farming. Probably had two full sets rot otherwise.
