The one new mechanic they've added is a ranged tank class. On light side, it's the trooper vanguard, dark side it's bounty hunter powertech. http://www.swtor.com/info/systems/advanced-classes These guys also make good melee tanks and have been proven to be able to tank high-end raid bosses.

Star Wars is fun, but it's really nothing to fawn over. I'm going to be playing it up to and including raiding at 50, but it really is, in my experience, a wow clone with Star Wars lore. Not that that's a bad thing... it's just more "meh", in that it's going to be fun to run the gauntlet with...
