Question - RGMercs in a Raid

I am playing on a bot friendly emu and putting together multiple groups in a raid setting and I'm not sure about if this is supported or the best way to go about it.

Is it best to make the character I want to be MA the Outside Assist on all characters in the raid? What should the main assist on the groups be?

Is there a command to set a character as outside assist, or do I have to use the ui? I could not find this in the docs/help.

Will characters cast buffs on the outside assist? Can this handle group buffs or do those need to be manual?

Full raids on RGMercs may not be intended, so if the better answer is to use something else, that's ok too, just want to give it a full shot as I use it a lot for single groups.

Raid support is absolute barebones (if at all) from anything I've seen, and to the best of my knowledge, there is currently no active development in that direction.
There is an outside assist list, but I've never personally used it. Take a look in combat settings. Group v2's are used as needed in the current group only.

Thanks. Most the people on the server seem to be using modbots for this.

OA should work and I did test it once.

But GOOD NEWS I am leveling up on Laz EMU Server and once I get my guys high enough to raid I intent do get into the weeds on the raiding stuff and make it work.

OA does work in my limited time with it.

I setup the group with an MA and then set that character to OA the raid assist and it seems to trigger correctly. It's a bit slow to engage sometimes.

What is weird is that the group with the raid assist won't assist on them after I create the raid unless I set up the OA on them as well. I suspect this is because the group roles appear to go away in the raid.

What would be helpful is an /rg set oa command that would set the current target to the outside assist.

To be clear once you set someone as OA it will select them as the controller automatically if they are the best option.

awesome glad to see emu / raid work!

currently to get rglua healing in a raid setting would it be through extended target? i 54 box on peq and would love to start messing around with rglua over e3

You would use Outside Assist. For the tanks. but I am not entirely sure how you want healing the raid to work - do you expect a single healer to top up everyone in the raid or do you have a healer per group or?

i can do a healer per group, im not sure how e3 tracks hp ... but worst case i would add the tanks to each of the healers i guess... mainly so everyone is healing the MT

If the Assist Outside option is set in the engage tab (/rgl set AssistOutside true if you wanted a command to broadcast), from what I've seen in the code, your healers should be checking friendlies on XT for healing. Never actually personally tested with a raid.
Edit: Rezzing should be supported. AFAIK buffing is not.

will it rez corpses in the area? or just in the group?... maybe tonight ill get my raid on with this and see what works and doesnt

buffing brings up another thought i guess no way to request buffs is there?

Rezzes should work on anyone in your group, raid, dnet or on your outside assist list.
Buffs currently check the PC/pet or groupmembers only. I'm personally focused elsewhere at the moment, but can't speak for others working on the project.

Can you picture it? One toon dies, every cleric stops to rez, then all the tanks die (lol).

clerics rez but how do i get them to loot there corpse after? this was a huge issue at one point lol

got corpse looting somewhat sorted out, its not perfect but works 95% of the time... next big issue is burning doesnt seem to use AA or recognize them. my burns are horrible. healing via group / xtar is pretty rough as well.

this would be so much better to use vs e3 really interested in trying to make it work

Burn settings and rotations vary by class.

Some are spot on and optimized. Some are... still in need of love (and the conversion from macro to Lua did some no favors). I recommend you bring up specific instances, with specific abilities, so they can be addresssed. Hope you are having fun tinkering with it! I myself started out just a few months ago with some issues I wanted to change and an idea of how huge the potential was for this script with a little bit of elbow-grease.
