Hi RG friends!

I will be soon finishing up my public speaking events leaving some time for some more content creation soon. I would like to produce a couple more videos for folks getting into Project Lazarus server since it seems to be a refuge for alot of old school EQ players. What are your biggest roadblocks? What would be helpful to you to see?

Some of the ideas I had were:

-How to setup older build of MQ2 for CTWN plugins to work
-Getting around the SK crashes with the old RG build
-Setting up characters to autologin
-Tips to build up your team over time

There are plenty great automations out there - it is hurting people making them use old legacy mq2

autologin for emu is probably one of the most frequent eq questions

I'd love to see more vids about emu-specific server stuff like "xyz server has abc thing"

My apologies if I have been creating more work for you Sic, was not my original intention. Would setting up Kissassist ini's be useful then as a starting point for people using RG? Would you rather have me push them to the Laz specific build altogether in the interim?

Autologin should be an easy one to do as that was confusing for me.

this is RG, we have the MQ build that comes from MQ - if laz is pushing its own build, then it might be worthwhile getting Laz in contact with @Redbot and getting a laz section for that specifically.

directing people towards something that isn't from redguides isn't going to be what is best for the redguides community - which is just my opinion and doesn't make it right - but we certainly don't want to encourage >>> anyone <<< to use legacy mq2 if they can at all help it. There have been hundreds and hundreds and likely low thousands of updates and improvements in the code base over the legacy code base.

Got it. To clarify: For RG forums, encourage using the current RG MQ Emu build and start with Kissassist as a stepping off point, since that seems to be the most compatible way to play there at present. Thank you for your response!

Thank you @PallyDPS. Emu is being actively developed here, Kiss, CWTN plugins, etc. are being made for emu. If there's anything the compile is missing that would be needed on Lazarus, please let me know.

And posting lazarus-specific KA .ini's would be grand! Thank you for helping out, I appreciate it.

yeah absolutely! that sounds great! I misunderstood your question to like how "e3 had their own build" thing from days past

a "so you decided you wanted to try eq emu on laz server" vid series from "just decided" to "now im dominating" would be awesome.

some of the emu community/world stuff is odd and challenging for new folks and just today was talking to someone trying to get emu running and was having all sorts of issues even just getting it downloaded/installed and then not seeing the login servers they wanted to see

This sounds great guys. As a long time member of RG, I can honestly say it's a great site with great resources. The more support for EMU there is, the better. I casually play on Lazarus, and it would rock to see more Vids on how to use RG stuff on that server. And the eventual CWTN plugin's for EMU would be awesome and worth waiting for.

PallyDPS -- Watched your originally vids on Lazarus many many months ago...it's why I tried the server and loved it.

Sic -- You rock man....just saying, as always.

PallyDPS I agree with Hulda99 above. I watched your video's about Lazarus and was intrigued to say the least. Enough that I went and read a bunch of the Wiki. I will tell you right now that if I ever get banned I will immediately switch over to Laz. And not even look back. The only thing holding me back right now is the fact I have this group I am trying to get to 120 on Live. I have learned so much about EQ and especially MQ and I can't give that up just yet. I can say I enjoyed your vid's, your little girl seems to get into it lol. Anyways keep them coming, I will watch them.
