Combat Assist No frills BST Mac 2022-07-08

Server Type

When I started using MQ2 / KissAssist, I was raiding with a small alliance and probably half the raid was boxes. I would typically run with a BST, a DRU, and a BRD and before using MQ2 I have a cycle of in-game macros setup on my characters to cast a spell, wait, cast, wait etc. It worked for me, I was able to do what I needed to and my DPS didn't suffer too much (BST is my main)

The reason that bit of information is important is that because of that playstyle, I was, and am, very reluctant to give complete control of my toon over to a macro. The result of which is this little self contained pet healer/mashed ability macro. I designed it to only run while you are attacking a mob but must be activated each time. The in-game hotkey I use to activate it looks like this.

/assist main
/pet attack
/petswarm
/mac BSTBasic

probably with a pause or two in there to account for hiccups in connection but anyway. Once it starts it watches your pet health, looks to see if your pet is taunting and if so gives him/her Aegis, handles things like Bestial Savagery, Batter, Maelstrom of Claws (but only if there is not another mob nearby so you don't wake mezzed mobs, you have to trigger it manually if you have multiples) It looks at whether you're using combat subtlety or not and uses the correct abilities to manage aggro (Roar of thunder/chameleon strike etc) There is even a condition when you trigger Ferocity that will trigger other complimentary abilities for a self contained burn. That part is not always dependable and I usually still trigger them all manually but sometimes it will handle them all for me. Once your targeted mob dies it checks your mana and health, if you're under 90% mana and over 50% health you use Consumption of Spirit, and after that if you're below 85% health you heal and the macro ends. I had a line in there to sit before ending but it became an aggro issue.

What this macro does not do is handle your nukes and DoT's. Like I said, I created this because I was raiding with boxes and not only did I not want to let my toon play itself, there were too many targets that we were hitting where you couldn't use certain spell types like cold, poison etc. At the end of the macro for anyone who's good with these things are some lines that I was testing to have my pet take over tanking if the main tank died, I never did get it working right and I'm not really that great with scripting so it's honestly a wonder that I got this much working correctly, if anyone wants to fix those last two lines and let me know I'd appreciate it.

I don't expect that many (if anyone) will want this as it's tailored to my playstyle and preference, but if you play beast and just want a little something to help watch your pets health and soften up the mobs it doesn't hurt to try it out a few times.
