Guys, I played around with it. It was my VPN, even when turned off. I had to totally uninstall it and reset my network stuff. It all works now. I'm not sure how I can use this computer for anything else now....but that's a problem for me to solve. Thank you for all the help!

Hi yall, For context. I do use Astril VPN but I have to switch it off for EQ to work (and I have it off when the error occurs). This is the only vpn that works consistently in China. Is there a further step that I should take? Like, can I temporarily disable VPNs or would I need to uninstall...

Hi Sic, Thanks for the quick reply and the suggestion. I tried to follow the instructions and when I run the redfetch.exe nothing happens. A black text box opens then closes after a few seconds. Could it be something about my settings that is causing all this stuff? Sorry again...total noob...

Need some help logging into the redguides launcher. First time set-up. All the guides claim pressing 'login' and it will automatically link to your account through the browser. When I click it, nothing happens and the launcher closes. I live in China, so I use a vpn. I tried turning that off...
