Nah, not just you. I've noticed this occurring sometimes as well. I usually have to /mapfilt npc to make it better if I need to look at the map without it screwing with other UI elements.

They ninja-patched after Vlad posted these, and changed the eqgame.exe - I'm fairly certain all of the memory locations have changed for the offsets. I know at least the ones I use have. Wouldn't recommend try to use em til they get updated again.

Yea sorry I just figured out that with a longer duration song like that selo's it waits to recast it for a couple minutes. Wish I could make it recast it manually though because I dont like taking the chance that something happens and it fades for a few secs.
