Damon

I am a child of the 80s that grew up playing Atari (PacMan and Space invaders) when I wasn't catching crawdads in the local pond.
Then as a teen of the 90s playing Nintendo (Mario bros, Metroid, and Zelda) when I wasn't going camping in Boy Scouts.
My first computer was an Intel 8088 @ 4.77 MHz with an astounding 10Mb hard drive and 640KB of lightning-fast Ram with a 5.25 floppy disk and (2) 3.5 floppy drives and a 90lbs CRT VGA monitor that could heat a whole room in winter. I got a sweet deal and only paid $2100 for my l33t gaming system (because I didn't know that newer models just came out and were 10 times better and the same price) I was able to play games with hundreds of hours of play like Champions of Krynn and Kings Quest.

Then I joined the Marines and played Starcraft and Command and Conquer with my friends but then I learned about MMOs like Ultima Online which is actually still around but owned by EA so you have to microtransaction $9.99 for every 500 steps you take in the game Jk,

Then a friend of mine asked me to join him in beta testing a new game called EverQuest I made my first character a ranger that I wanted to be a dark elf and name Drizzt but couldn't so I tried to make a High elf Ranger named Kith-Kanan but again that player/race combo isn't allowed so I made a wood elf called Kagonesti.
I remember logging in a few days after my friend started and was in a forest and my friend found me and said he was gonna take me to town and get me some gear. He stopped and said, "wait here I'll get the gear". I said, "I thought you were taking me to town" and he said, "I did, look up!" just then a guy fell to his death right next to me and I looked up to see the tree city and I was hooked immediately.

Anyway, I stuck around in the Marines for 15 years till I got injured in Iraq and got med discharged and got a bachelor's degree in computer science and WAS gonna get a job at State Farm in the database section, but after interning there and constantly having to argue with 60-year-old men to do their job on time so I could do my job on time, I learned I wasn't a corporate "red tape" kind of guy. I went into Drill instructor mode on some apparently important extremely lazy people that refused to use the new programing language that we were ALL told to use (and could get out of work to take classes to teach us) and I was told to leave and not bother applying for the actual position by HR.

So now I live off my VA disability and basically live in a hospital bed at my house as I slowly morph into a literal live-action version of the South Park Warcraft Griefer called Jenkins.
