Just a tip, after you've cleared the thugs and the fakes and are killing the authentic jak... It will lock at stages and spawn illusions - those illusions are easy to kill and avoid the warping altogether. I just tab over to a mage (beastlord would be fine too) and run to each location to kill...

i use KissAssist but my bard is max level and max aa, so i don't have to edit the ini very much once i get it to where it satisfies me.
